They were likely dumped there decades ago by people hoping to rid themselves of a car because of its connection to a crime, the search teams said. “That’s the highest we’ve ever found in a lake,” said Ken Fleming, the founder of Recon Dive Recovery, one of the groups involved in the search. Recon Dive employs divers and special equipment such as sonar to find missing people and cars underwater. CNN —An underwater search team that specializes in missing persons cold cases discovered approximately 30 cars submerged in a South Florida lake over the weekend, police said. “As of this time, it is unknown if these vehicles are linked to criminal activity nor how long the vehicles have been submerged in the lake,” Doral police said. Authorities were investigating Tuesday after divers recovered dozens of vehicles from a lake in Doral, Florida. More than 40 cold cases on are their radar in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Bishop said. Miami-Dade police told CNN their divers were working Tuesday to recover vehicles from the lake with assistance from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

While Mattel will report second-quarter results on Wednesday, days after the theatrical release of the movie, analysts say the boost for Barbie sales will be most pronounced in the quarter ending Sept. 29 before tapering off. Retailers worldwide have also pitched in, with brands from Zara (ITX.MC) to H&M (HMb.ST) and Gap rolling out themed merchandise like Barbie hoodies, perfumes and toothbrushes. For the past three or four weeks of this record heatwave, people have been burned just by falling on the ground. There are also burn patients in the ICU, and about half of those patients are people burned after falls. Despite the extreme heat, most places aren’t seeing burn injuries right now.
