Not to have kids because of concerns over climate change? I think the more bizarre thing is our leadership, who encourages young women, and frankly young men, to think about it that way,” Vance said. LONDON — The UK chief executive of Salesforce wants the Labor government to regulate artificial intelligence — but says it's important that policymakers don't tar all technology companies developing AI systems with the same brush. Bahrololoumi noted that there's a difference between companies developing consumer-facing AI tools — like OpenAI — and firms like Salesforce making enterprise AI systems. She said consumer-facing AI systems, such as ChatGPT , face fewer restrictions than enterprise-grade products, which have to meet higher privacy standards and comply with corporate guidelines. A spokesperson for the UK's Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) said that planned AI rules would be "highly targeted to the handful of companies developing the most powerful AI models," rather than applying "blanket rules on the use of AI. " That indicates that the rules might not apply to companies like Salesforce, which don't make their own foundational models like OpenAI.

Wells Fargo on Friday reported third-quarter earnings that exceeded Wall Street expectations, causing its shares to rise. The better-than-expected earnings came even with a sizeable decline in net interest income, a key measure of what a bank makes on lending. "Our revenue sources are more diverse and fee-based revenue grew 16% during the first nine months of the year, largely offsetting net interest income headwinds." Wells saw net income fall to $5.11 billion, or $1.42 per share, in the third quarter, from $5.77 billion, or $1.48 per share, during the same quarter a year ago. The net income includes $447 million, or 10 cents a share, in losses on debt securities, the company said.

Luckily, feeling wealthy is less about the money in your bank account and more about your attitude toward the money you already have. In short, your ability to feel wealthy depends on "what your experiences and perceptions on money are." This involves letting go of a well-known number like $1 million and embracing your personal financial journey, she says. Goals such as establishing an emergency fund or improving your credit score, when reached, can help you feel wealthy without having to build a huge net worth. In other words, you don't need $1 million in hand today to feel wealthy — just a plan to grow your money over time.

The commissioners of MLB, MLS, the NBA, NFL, NHL, NWSL and WNBA, as well as the president of NASCAR, are the brainchildren behind a new campaign to curb hate in America. The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, founded by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, will back the campaign called “Timeout Against Hate.” Kraft met with the commissioners of the aforementioned sports leagues earlier this year to discuss a potential campaign, and they are committing $50 million to spread the message. “Why in sports do you take a timeout?,” Kraft told NBC News. Airports are looking to private wireless networks to improve operations, execs said at MWC Las Vegas. Private wireless networks are key to ushering in a better airport experience for both the travel hubs' operations and the billions of passengers who pass through them. Private networks generally offer greater security and reliability, lower latency, and higher bandwidth compared with public networks. "As I think about a future with a lot of growth, private wireless is foundational. Private wireless networks can also help enterprises with cost and mobility by reducing the expense of installing cables and by providing connectivity to areas that might be harder to reach with wires.
