WARSAW, Poland — Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has canceled concerts planned in Poland amid outrage over his stance on Russia’s war against Ukraine, Polish media reported Saturday. An official with the Tauron Arena in Krakow, where Waters was scheduled to perform two concerts in April, said they would no longer take place. “Roger Waters’ manager decided to withdraw ... without giving any reason,” Lukasz Pytko from Tauron Arena Krakow said Saturday in comments carried by Polish media outlets. The website for Waters’ “This Is Not a Drill” concert tour did not list the Krakow concerts previously scheduled for April 21-22. City councilors in Krakow were expected to vote next week on a proposal to name Waters as a persona non grata, expressing “indignation” over the musician’s stance on the war in Ukraine.

"Live Nation Polska and Tauron Arena Krakow have cancelled Roger Waters' concert," organisers said in a statement on the venue's website. Local councillors in Krakow had been due to vote on a resolution declaring Waters 'Persona non grata' on Wednesday. Wantuch said in a Facebook post on Sunday morning that he was in Ukraine and would comment on Waters' statement in the evening.

In the letter, Waters wrote that he opposed the West sending weapons to Ukraine to aid the embattled country in its war against invading Russia. The shows were planned to take place in Krakow as part of the his international tour. In a Facebook statement addressed to the UK’s The Guardian and Poland’s Gazeta Krakowska newspapers, Waters denied he or his management had canceled the Poland shows. He pointed the blame instead to Lukasz Wantuch, a Krakow city councilor who wrote his own Facebook post on September 10 opposing Waters’ shows.

Olena Zelenska, în vârstă de 42 de ani, a anunţat vineri pe Facebook că a fost testată pozitiv la noul coronavirus, precizând că testele restului familiei au ieşit negative. ‘Diagnosticul actual al Olenei Zelenska este COVID-19 – pneumonie polisegmentară bilaterală de severitate moderată. Ucraina a înregistrat în ultimele zile o creştere semnificativă a numărului de cazuri de COVID-19 pe fondul relaxării măsurilor antiepidemice. Însuşi preşedintele Zelenski a fost criticat pentru faptul că, de multe ori, nu a purtat mască în apariţiile publice. În urma scandalului declanşat pe reţelele sociale, poliţia a declarat că i-a amendat pe preşedinte şi pe însoţitorii săi.
