With the former president again skipping the debate, how much interest would there be in hearing out a collection of non-Trump candidates? That’s a steep drop from the first debate, which was also held without Trump and attracted about 12.8 million viewers. It also represents — by a significant margin — the lowest TV audience for any Republican presidential debate since the start of the 2016 cycle, when Trump first became a candidate. Below is a chart of estimated viewerships for all GOP debates since the 2016 cycle. By contrast, the decline between the first and second debates of the 2016 cycle — both of which featured Trump — was just 4%.

Analyst Mohammed Khallouf initiated coverage of the social media platform with a buy rating and a price target of $32.10. That target indicates that Khallouf thinks shares can rise 23.2% from Monday's close. Overall revenue also rose on an annualized basis in the first half of 2023, which Khallouf said was especially notable given smaller social media platforms struggled in the period. Pinterest's recent agreement to use Amazon for third-party advertisements should also improve monetization for the company, Khallouf noted. Shares rose marginally before the bell on Tuesday following the call.

Retail fuel prices in the U.S. and Europe have risen to multi-month highs as crude prices have rallied. "If energy prices increase and stay high, that'll have an effect on spending, and it may have an effect on consumer expectations for inflation, things like that. High interest rates are already curbing demand across Western economies, including for oil. The U.S. Federal Reserve on Wednesday pressed pause on interest rates, but did not rule out one more hike this year. President Joe Biden has already promised to cut prices, though has not said how, and in the short term the impact of autumn refinery maintenance on supplies could keep prices high.

Starting in 2024, officials say Singapore’s Changi Airport will introduce automated immigration clearance, which will allow passengers to depart the city-state without passports, using only biometric data. Biometric technology, along with facial recognition software, is already in use to some extent in Changi Airport at automated lanes at immigration checkpoints. But passports will still be required for many countries outside of Singapore that do not offer passport-free clearance, Teo stressed. Departure hall at Terminal 3 of Singapore's Changi Airport. It commonly leads to a number of other health problems including stroke, heart attack, heart failure and kidney damage. High-performing countries like Canada and South Korea have delivered comprehensive national hypertension treatment programs, according to WHO, and both nations have surpassed the 50% mark for blood pressure control in adults with hypertension. An increase in the number of people effectively treated for hypertension to levels observed in high-performing countries could prevent 76 million deaths between 2023 and 2030, the WHO says. REUTERS/Benjamin Westhoff Acquire Licensing RightsBERLIN, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Germany is likely to generate more than 50% of its power from renewable energy this year but needs to ramp up the speed of its transition towards the end of the decade, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Monday. The economy minister, whose portfolio also includes energy and climate action, spoke of a boom in the solar power industry, with this year's target of achieving 9-gigawatt capacity expected to be reached. The expansion of onshore wind energy was also progressing well, he said, with 2022's full-year volumes already reached by the end of July 2023. Offshore wind energy expansion was being hampered by a lack of components needed to build the facilities, according to the minister.

WASHINGTON (AP) — As the Biden administration heralds the forthcoming release of five U.S. citizens detained by Iran, President Joe Biden is also confronting questions about the price being paid to bring them — and other detainees — home. But each time, officials have said bringing home Americans held by foreign adversaries is a core administration priority that necessarily comes at a heavy cost. Increasingly, the Biden White House has appeared willing to pay it. The Biden administration is, of course, hardly unique in prisoner swaps. The Obama administration in a 2016 deal that drew consternation granted clemency to seven Iranians charged in the U.S. in exchange for the release by Iran of four Americans.
