CNN —“Make Europe Great Again” is Hungary’s official motto for its upcoming turn at the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. The country announced the motto and a new logo in a video posted on X on Tuesday. The motto is a near-exact copy of the slogan adopted by former US President Donald Trump, who has previously heaped praise on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The cube features the Hungarian flag on one face and the EU flag on another. In May, Orbán held the third annual American-style CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Hungary.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump has once again asked a judge to throw out the classified documents case, arguing this time that investigators destroyed exculpatory evidence by rifling through boxes for classified documents gathered in the FBI’s 2022 search of Mar-a-Lago. Special counsel Jack Smith’s team has already acknowledged in court that some of the documents may be out of order. But, according to Trump, those boxes have been tampered with because investigators failed to maintain the order of their contents. The judge has yet to decide several additional motions to dismiss the case from Trump and his two co-defendants. However, the judge gave them a small victory by removing from an indictment prosecutors’ account of Trump allegedly showing a classified map to a political adviser, as the map was not one of the documents Trump is charged with mishandling.

CNN —Hugely popular US television shows like “Shark Tank,” “Survivor” and even “American Idol” are based on hit programs from foreign countries. What better way to shake things up — and spark public interest — than having Biden and Trump spend a weekend together with TV cameras capturing almost every move? That means there’s a possibility that Trump could be sentenced to prison or home confinement for an extended period of time. If that were to happen, the show would be a no-go — unless Biden were to agree to spend the weekend filming in Mar-A-Lago, if Trump should get sentenced to house arrest. If the former president were to get hard time, Biden would have to be game to spend a weekend in Trump’s prison block.

Former U.S. President Trump found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records during his trial at Manhattan Criminal Court May 30th 2024 in New York City. In Amazon’s movie, Hathaway’s character, Solène, meets cute with Harry Styles-esque singer Hayes Campbell (Galitzine) at Coachella. The movie launches into a montage-heavy romp around Europe before the couple’s outed publicly, at which point a million cougar headlines take flight. I’d like to think this hoopla is overblown, that it wouldn’t really happen in this day and age. CNN —Judge Aileen Cannon had been on the federal bench for little more than a year when a senior judge offered to preside over one of her first criminal trials in her isolated south Florida courthouse. In her seven years as a Justice Department attorney, Cannon participated on the trial teams of just four criminal cases. Still, Cannon has asked questions in the Trump case that appear out of left field. Her orientation toward such legal rabbit holes is not distinct to the Trump case, veterans of her courtroom say. CNN —Vetting materials have been sent to several candidates under consideration to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate, according to a person familiar with the process, as the quest to round out the 2024 Republican ticket heats up ahead of next month’s national party convention. It is unclear which potential candidates have received the vetting materials, and people familiar with the process caution that the search for Trump’s running mate is in flux. Doug Burgum, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Sen. JD Vance are all top contenders. NBC News was first to report that the vetting materials had been sent out.
