President-elect Donald Trump's tax proposals could cost trillions of dollars. In addition to eliminating taxes on certain income, Trump also floated making interest paid on car loans fully tax deductible; getting rid of the controversial cap on state and local tax deductions; ending the double taxation on Americans who live abroad; exempting police officers, firefighters, veterans and active-duty military from federal income tax; and even exploring jettisoning the federal income tax itself. Though his campaign didn’t release details on the proposal, Trump indicated that he would eliminate both federal income taxes and payroll taxes, which fund Social Security and Medicare. In 2023, Americans spent about $17.7 billion on out-of-home cold coffee including iced coffee, cold brew and frozen coffee drinks. Giants like Starbucks have played a major role in iced drinks taking share from more traditional hot coffee. 45% of coffee drinkers ages 18 to 24 said they had a cold coffee in the past day according to a survey conducted in July 2024 by the National Coffee Association. Cold coffee drinks are highly customizable, with syrups, toppings and cold foam incorporated into many of the popular offerings at major coffeehouse chains. Nvidia's next-generation artificial intelligence chip Blackwell is in hot demand from companies like OpenAI, Microsoft , Meta and other firms building AI data centers to power products like ChatGPT and Copilot. Doosan's CCLs are manufactured by Doosan Electronics, a subsidiary that accounts for over 70% of the corporation's revenue. The bank's analysts believe this estimate could be conservative, noting the increased CCL content per Blackwell chip, which could translate into a much higher total addressable market than previously estimated. Doosan's stock has already shown strong performance, rising nearly 150% this year and almost tripling in value over the past year. The company is currently valued at about $2.5 billion on the Korean stock exchange.

For years at global climate summits, nuclear energy was seen by many as part of the problem, not part of the solution. Sama Bilbao y Leon has been attending the annual United Nations climate change talks since 1999, when she was a student of nuclear engineering. And for most of that time, she said, people didn’t want to discuss nuclear power at all. At last year’s climate conference in the United Arab Emirates, 22 countries pledged, for the first time, to triple the world’s use of nuclear power by midcentury to help curb global warming. At this year’s summit in Azerbaijan, six more countries signed the pledge.
