Editor’s Note: Learn more about the decades-old cold case of the Tylenol murders in the latest episode of “How It Really Happened,” airing Sunday at 9 p.m. A string of unsolved murders is the subject of a CNN Original Series documentary, ‘How It Really Happened: Tylenol Murders’ airing Sunday, November 17 at 9 p.m. When they gathered that afternoon, Adam’s brother Stanley Janus and Stanley’s wife, Theresa, also took Tylenol capsules from the same bottle. The most compelling suspect was James William Lewis, who investigators determined had sent a threatening letter to Johnson & Johnson, demanding $1 million to stop the Tylenol murders. As horrific as those deaths remain, the Tylenol murders did lead to safety measures which have very likely saved many lives.

On the right, familiar conspiracy theories about voting popularized by President-elect Donald Trump continued to circulate. NewsGuard said there was “no evidence” that Starlink was used to interfere with the presidential election in Trump’s favor. As the 2024 election results were reported, social media users on the left began to speculate about Musk’s role in vote counting. “Kamala Harris left us a breadcrumb,” one TikTok user said about the updated language on the fund’s website in a video that received over 700,000 views. CISA responded to this speculation on its website’s “Rumor vs. Reality” resource, where it has debunked election misinformation.

The suspect was apprehended at the scene and confessed to his actions, police added. “According to preliminary investigations, the suspect, surname Xu — male, 21 years old, a 2024 graduate of the college — attacked others after failing an exam and not receiving his graduation certificate, as well as being dissatisfied with his internship compensation,” a statement by the Yixing Public Security Bureau said. For Brandon Mintz, it was the text messages and calls that started rolling in from friends and colleagues asking how high bitcoin prices could go. Strategic reserve could set off 'bitcoin space race'Under this idea, the U.S. would establish a “strategic bitcoin reserve,” like the ones it already maintains for gold and oil. A day later, Trump echoed the strategic reserve idea, though did not put a specific figure on it. On Nov. 6, Lummis posted on X in all-caps, “WE ARE GOING TO BUILD A STRATEGIC BITCOIN RESERVE,” alongside two American flags. For crypto supporters, a strategic bitcoin reserve would send a signal to markets and countries alike about the digital token’s value.

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump’s consistent campaign pledge to impose sweeping tariffs on products imported into the U.S. is likely to face stiff challenges in court and potentially pushback from Congress. There are potential legal limits to Trump’s authority, even though he has said he would unilaterally impose the increases. But a broad array of tariffs on allies “could cross the line,” especially as the Supreme Court has taken a generally pro-business stance in recent years, he added. During the Biden administration, the Supreme Court embraced a theory called the “major questions doctrine.” Biden’s ambitious plan to wipe out billions of dollars in student debt was one of the proposals the Supreme Court faulted. The Supreme Court declined to take up the issue.

In the end, looking backward may be more productive for Biden and Xi than trying to predict what’s next for their two nations. Biden administration officials acknowledge they have little insight into what a notoriously unpredictable leader might be planning. What Biden can do, they argue, is reiterate to Xi the value of maintaining communication, even amid the expected contention. A key counterweight could be Biden’s legacyHow Trump confronts those threats is not something he’s discussed at great length, at least as a candidate. It’s also an area his aides believe could — and should — be continued by the incoming Trump administration, though acknowledging they have little to go on when it comes to the president-elect’s intentions.

U.S. President Joe Biden meets with China's President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the APEC Summit in Lima, Peru, on Nov. 16, 2024. Biden was expected to urge Xi to dissuade North Korea from further deepening its support for Russia's war on Ukraine. In front of the cameras Saturday, Xi spoke to Biden — but it was unmistakable that his message was directed at Trump. After he was greeted by Xi, Biden ignored shouted questions from reporters on his concerns about the incoming Trump administration as well as North Korea. Biden is looking for Xi to step up Chinese engagement to prevent an already dangerous moment with North Korea from further escalating.
