Tesla stock is set for big upside in the second half of 2024, Wedbush predicted. That's because the carmaker is finally a turnaround in weak demand from China, Dan Ives said. But those headwinds are easing, particularly as things begin to stabilize in China, Ives said. The release could represent a major turning point for Tesla stock, Ives said, previously calling the robotaxi a "magic model" for the company. I believe this is a stock that's going to have a massive run second-half of the year."

The higher the PE ratio, the more investors believe the business will generate strong earnings growth in the future to justify the price today. Even excluding the technology sector, which trades at a robust 30.8 times earnings, the market's PE is a solid 18.3 times next year's earnings, according to FactSet. One place investors scour is the list of low PE stocks, which they perceive as offering attractive value because they are "cheap." First, when growth stocks are in their early stage of expansion, they can grow earnings in the high double-digits range. Then, we grouped these equities into quintiles based on their relative PE ratio from highest (1 st quintile) to lowest (5 th quintile).

SLB (SLB) has been on our radar for some time and its recent underperformance produces an interesting opportunity to gain long exposure with substantial upside potential. That's nearly a 35% discount to the average S & P 500 stock, implying that the technical upside target is well within its historical valuation range. With low volatility, options prices on SLB are extremely inexpensive and would benefit from a simple strategy such as buying a call option. Additionally, we are only risking 7.7% of the stock's price to gain unlimited upside exposure. Smucker, which owns pet food brands alongside its namesake jelly products and snacks for people. Smucker's efforts to trim down its pet food portfolio. How to trade Carnival before earnings using options
  + stars: | 2024-06-24 | by ( Michael Khouw | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +5 min
Both the dividend and debt levels have important implications for the stock's volatility, the price of options generally, and the relationship between the price of puts and calls. The trade All else equal, higher levels of corporate debt increase leverage and, therefore, the volatility of a company's equity. Carnival's options are nearly twice as expensive now as they were at the end of 2019, but the higher levels of debt justify higher prices. Typically, we do not recommend selling covered calls into earnings unless options prices are very high, as earnings provide a catalyst that can move a stock. In this case, an 8% implied move is substantial, but due to the high debt levels, it merely represents a fair price for the options.
