An explosion rocked a hospital in Gaza on Tuesday, killing hundreds in one of the deadliest single incidents of violence in the strip—hours before President Biden was expected to visit Israel in a show of support. Hamas and Palestinian officials blamed Israel and said at least 500 people were killed. Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said there were “clear indications” that the blast was a misfire by the militant Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which the group denied. The source of the explosion couldn’t be immediately verified.

“Hard Knocks” is a docuseries that focuses on a single NFL team as it prepares for the upcoming NFL season. F1 is already a dangerous and exciting sport on its own, but “Drive to Survive” transforms it into a soap opera. By the end, hopefully, they’re consuming the product; in this case, actually watching the live sport. But his strength on the field isn’t why Travis Kelce is a household name. In last season’s Super Bowl, Travis Kelce went head-to-head against brother Jason Kelce, when the Chiefs faced the Philadelphia Eagles.

USADA and UFC to part ways amid McGregor dispute
  + stars: | 2023-10-12 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +1 min
"The relationship between USADA and UFC became untenable given the statements made by UFC leaders and others questioning USADA's principled stance that McGregor not be allowed to fight without being in the testing pool for at least six months," USADA CEO Travis Tygart said in a release. The UFC and McGregor did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The USADA said meetings over a contract renewal broke down on Monday when, after a productive meeting in May, the UFC did an "about-face" and informed the agency it was going in a different direction. "We are disappointed for UFC athletes, who are independent contractors who rely on our independent, gold-standard global program to protect their rights to a clean, safe, and fair octagon," Tygart said. CNN —Environmental lawyer and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Monday his independent candidacy for president, officially ending his effort to defeat President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary in favor of a long-shot general election bid. Kennedy’s campaign as an independent could further complicate a general election race that’s already expected to be closely contested. A Reuters/Ipsos poll of a hypothetical three-way race between Biden, Trump and Kennedy conducted last week among likely voters found 14% of voters supported Kennedy, with 40% supporting Trump and 38% supporting Biden. We denounce his candidacy and believe it to be perilous for our country, ” Rory Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Joseph P Kennedy II and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend said in a statement. He said he supported Trump in 2016 and 2020, but said he plans to support Kennedy in 2024.

On Monday, LA28 organisers formally asked that flag football for both the men's and women's competitions as well as four other sports be added to the event. It would mark the Olympic debut for flag football, a game that looks similar to tackle football, with passing and receiving, but requires little protective equipment, with play stopping when a defender pulls a cloth flag from the waist of an opponent. "But I will tell you that through this process a number of great young stars of the league have said how great it would be to represent their country and play flag." O'Reilly said one appeal of flag football is that it is low cost and that almost anyone can play it. "The Olympics in LA would be a tremendous boost to flag football around the world and in this country."

China has only a narrow path to avoid economic stagnation, according to TS Lombard. Stimulus from the government can offset weak investment and low consumption, but only partially. "We define Sinification as a grinding deceleration in activity led by falling property investment and weak consumption," he later added. That's well-below the double-digit growth rate China has seen for much of the past 20 years -- but still better than the 1% growth rate Japan saw in the 90s.
