A Texas man accused of strangling his pregnant wife is being held on $1 million bond in the capital murder case. Houston officials say Lee Gilley, 38, killed his wife, Christa Gilley, 38 at their home on Oct. 7. The autopsy also revealed Ms. Gilley was about eight weeks pregnant,” police said. Threads has added a green dot that shows when you're online. Instead, it's a green dot that signals when you're online. The green dot is turned on by default, but you can turn it off completely, or enable it to be seen only by mutual followers. But do you need a green dot to indicate you're talking about the Mets game or whatever is on Bravo at that moment? I don't imagine the green dot will change the way I engage with people, but I like to lean into the creepiness.

Universal 's Epic Universe theme park will open its gates on May 22, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. First announced in 2019, Epic Universe represents the single-largest investment Comcast's NBCUniversal has ever made in its theme parks business and in Florida overall, CEO Brian Roberts said at the time. Epic Universe will be anchored around the Loews Hotels' Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room property that will have a dedicated entrance to the park for hotel guests. This first phase of tickets will allow guests to purchase three-, four- or five-day admission to Universal's Orlando Resort, with one-day admission to Epic Universe. Additionally, annual passholders will have the chance to buy single-day tickets to Epic Universe on Oct. 24 before they go on sale to the general public.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — When schools here reopen for the first time since Hurricane Helene unleashed a frightening deluge on western North Carolina, teachers won’t simply pick up where they left off in their lesson plans. While all Asheville City Schools students and staff members have been accounted for, they are grieving the deaths of other members of their community. “We’re not going to be able to just jump right into academics,” Asheville City Schools chief of staff Kim Dechant said. The city has restored water for toilets and handwashing at all other district schools, Dechant said.
