Simone NoronhaFor Migrating Birds, It’s the Flight of Their Lives Leer en españolAmerica’s birds are in trouble. If migrating birds lose their winter refuges, the consequences will ripple across the hemisphere. MissouriMissouri provides breeding habitats for many grassland bird species, which have been faring especially poorly in recent decades. “This is a classic Pacific Northwest to west Mexico species,” Mr. Jiang said. The birds breed at marshes and wetlands across the Western United States and Canada.

Eduardo Munoz/ReutersTreks at the airport have been getting worse ever since security changes were implemented after the September 11, 2001, attacks. In Newark, Chicago and other cities’ airport terminals, moving walkways have been removed to make room for more shops and restaurants. Some new airport terminals have recently opened without moving walkways. The airport is now building a tunnel to shorten the walk from security to the concourse. So, are people missing flights now because they have to walk so far?

My husband and I are looking at houses to buy, but we both have variable income. We then decided how much of that income we were comfortable devoting to a mortgage payment (including insurance and taxes). Equipped with our monthly payment number, we could play with the other variables in the housing equation: the mortgage rate, the home price, and our down payment. When toying with the numbers, we realized that a larger down payment dropped our monthly mortgage amount significantly. So we've decided to sell our two rental properties to have a larger down payment and a lower monthly payment.

agent on Wednesday fatally shot a man in Provo, Utah, who officials said was armed and had threatened to assassinate President Biden just hours before the president was scheduled to speak in nearby Salt Lake City. Craig D. Robertson, 75, was also charged with threatening to shoot other elected officials, including Alvin L. The shooting comes at a moment of intense polarization in American politics. The three indictments of former President Donald J. Biden, who was scheduled to visit Utah on Wednesday, was briefed on the FBI raid, a White House official said, referring further questions on the matter to the FBI. He also allegedly made online threats against Biden ahead of his scheduled Utah visit.
