Before launching on June 5, Boeing and NASA planned for Starliner to be in space for nine days. But Calypso's mission is now expected to return to Earth on June 22 — departing the ISS at 11:42 p.m. That means the Starliner crew flight test will now last at least 17 days, about double the original plan, for further spacecraft testing. The crew flight test represents a final major step before NASA certifies Boeing to fly crew on operational, six-month missions.

A group of scientists used machine learning to analyze hundreds of wild African elephant calls recorded in Kenya between 1986 and 2022, publishing their findings on Monday in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Ecology and Evolution. They did not analyze other types of rumbles, like "let's go" rumbles, because elephants are less likely to use specific names in that context, the authors explained. Unlike dolphins and parrots, who address each other by mimicking the receiver's voice, these elephant calls are not imitations of what each elephant sounds like. And if the elephants have names for each other, it's also possible that they have names for other objects too, according to the study's authors.

CNN —The US Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers and retailers to not “eat, sell or serve” any of Diamond Shruumz-brand’s microdosing chocolate bars after people across four states were left hospitalized. Eight people reported falling ill after eating Diamond Shruumz’s chocolates, the FDA said in an advisory. People who consumed the chocolate bars reported experiencing symptoms that include “seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper and hypotension, nausea and vomiting,” said the FDA. CNN has reached out to Diamond Shruumz for comment but has not heard back by the time of publishing. Beginning in January 2025, the company will stop stocking books regularly, and will instead sell them only during the holiday shopping period, from September through December. Costco’s shift away from books came largely because of the labor required to stock books, the executives said. Copies have to be laid out by hand, rather than just rolled out on a pallet as other products often are at Costco. New York CNN —The website for the Columbia Law Review is no longer accessible following the publication of an article critical of Israel that the publication’s board said did not go through the proper review process. At issue is the publication of an article that said Palestinians are living under a “brutally sophisticated structure of oppression” by Israel. The Columbia Law Review Association is an independent nonprofit organization with its own board of directors, and it is not governed by Columbia University or its law school. The piece was published Monday, despite the board saying it had asked for a delay in publishing until June 7 pending more review. “The attempt to silence my legal scholarship on the Nakba by shutting down the entire Columbia Law Review website is not only reflective of a pervasive and anti-intellectual Palestine exception to academic freedom but is also a testament to a culture of Nakba denialism,” Eghbariah said in a statement to CNN.

By 1926, that list turned into the first Kelley Blue Book pricing guide for used cars. Long ago, Bob Kelley was a “lot boy” at the dealership run by his uncle and his father, Sidney “Buster” Kelley. In 1995, Kelley Blue Book started a website, making its data easily accessible to the general public, not just industry insiders.
