Almost half of young women have at least a bachelor’s degree compared to 37% of young men. That compares to 2008, when Barack Obama won the votes of 66% of young men. One of the biggest financial pressure points for young men has been higher rents, which are up around 20% since 2020. Young men are more likely to be financially dependent on their parents compared to young women, with 74% of women describing themselves as mostly financially independent compared to 62% of young men, according to a Pew survey. I think Trump will do better with young men than among young women — the gap will be pretty significant in terms of voter support — but I don’t think Trump’s going to win an overwhelming majority.

Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys have submitted a filing opposing a move by prosecutors to combine two sexual crimes cases against the disgraced film mogul. Manhattan prosecutors have sought to consolidate new charges with ones previously brought against Weinstein so that they could be tried in court together. Sean "Diddy" Combs wants to go to trial on sex trafficking charges next spring, the embattled hip-hop mogul's lawyers informed a judge Wednesday. "Mr. Combs continues to assert his right to a speedy trial and intends to request a trial date in April or May 2025, and as consistent with the Court’s trial schedule," the jailed rapper's lawyers wrote. Combs was charged last month with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution in a sweeping indictment by the Southern District of New York. Combs' preference was mentioned in a joint letter from his lawyers and prosecutors. In the joint letter, U.S. government prosecutors said they have started submitting to defense lawyers some of the "voluminous" evidence in the case, including "several terabytes of electronic material" regarding Combs.

A longtime aide to embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams has stepped down. Winnie Greco, director of the city’s Asian Affairs, resigned to her post on Monday after more than a decade working closely with Adams as a liaison between him, in his different capacities, and the Asian American community. Her resignation comes after Greco and several other Adams aides were raided by the FBI earlier this year.
