Almost half of young women have at least a bachelor’s degree compared to 37% of young men. That compares to 2008, when Barack Obama won the votes of 66% of young men. One of the biggest financial pressure points for young men has been higher rents, which are up around 20% since 2020. Young men are more likely to be financially dependent on their parents compared to young women, with 74% of women describing themselves as mostly financially independent compared to 62% of young men, according to a Pew survey. I think Trump will do better with young men than among young women — the gap will be pretty significant in terms of voter support — but I don’t think Trump’s going to win an overwhelming majority.

Trump’s campaign also expects to draw huge, raucous crowds, and command outsized media attention – which would pay dividends across the political map. It’s the same reason Trump’s campaign has had the former president sit down with popular YouTube streamers and podcasters. Harris’ campaign has employed a similar strategy in recent weeks, targeting specific groups of voters with her appearances on podcasts and other interviews. Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys have submitted a filing opposing a move by prosecutors to combine two sexual crimes cases against the disgraced film mogul. Manhattan prosecutors have sought to consolidate new charges with ones previously brought against Weinstein so that they could be tried in court together. But in a court document, a response to the prosecutors' motion to consolidate cases filed Oct. 2, the Oscar-winning producer’s lawyers accused the district attorney’s office of acting improperly and unfairly. Bragg’s office signaled that it would seek to link the two cases together ahead of Weinstein’s retrial. Samson says prosecutors say they won’t be ready in time and want to move the trial to January.

Sean "Diddy" Combs is expected to appear Thursday afternoon before the federal judge in New York assigned to oversee his trial, which the embattled hip-hop mogul’s lawyers would like to begin next spring. Deadlines may be set for various issues related to the trial of Combs, 54, who pleaded not guilty last month to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. A lawyer said Combs “vehemently denies” claims related to that case. Another lawyer for Combs, Marc Agnifilo, has similarly denied the criminal allegations against him. However, they told Judge Arun Subramanian there is “voluminous” evidence in the case, including “several terabytes of electronic material,” which they’ve begun to turn over to the defense.

With less than four weeks until Election Day, Trump is scheduled to hold rallies in staunchly Democratic states he has virtually no chance of winning. President Joe Biden won those states by an average of 20 points in 2020, with his 13-point Colorado win the closest margin. “Choosing high-impact settings makes it so the media can’t look away and refuse to cover the issues and the solutions President Trump is offering,” said a senior Trump campaign adviser of the strategy behind late-election cycle events in Democratic states. He called Trump the “most unorthodox candidate in modern history,” which means the off-script strategy could have some value. “Aurora, Colorado has become a 'war zone' due to the influx of violent Venezuelan prison gang members,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement announcing the event.
