CNN —An inflatable emergency slide accidentally deployed inside of a Delta Air Lines plane while on the ground at Salt Lake International Airport on Saturday. “Delta flight 520, operating from New York-JFK to Los Angeles-LAX, diverted to Salt Lake City due to a maintenance issue,” said an airline spokesperson in a statement issued to CNN on Sunday. “While on the ground, the same aircraft’s slide was deployed by accident.”No emergency landing was declared, nor did the plane divert due to the slide, according to the statement. The spokesperson said there were 168 passengers on board the B767-300 plane at the time of the incident. "The situation is very rare," according to an expert questioned about the incident at the Tianjin government municipal headquarters. Experts said the high-rise buildings facing the street were affected to varying degrees. Roads could be seen buckled and warped in photos on social media, while others showed a section of wall tile from a building collapsed on the floor.

CNN —Amazon has agreed to pay more than $30 million to settle two federal lawsuits alleging that the tech giant violated users’ privacy — including that of children — through its Alexa voice assistant and its Ring doorbell cameras. Amazon acquired Ring in 2018, paving the way for the e-commerce giant to get into the home security business. According to the FTC, Amazon kept Alexa voice recordings of children “indefinitely” unless a user specifically instructed the company to delete the recordings. Amazon also agreed to send consumers notices about the FTC settlement, and to implement a privacy program for geolocation data. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the Alexa settlement.
