Homebuyers can also now put less money down on their purchases — an attempt to breathe life into China's moribund property market. Since the pandemic, China's leader, Xi Jinping, has done little to stop the bleeding in the country's property market or to get China's ailing consumers to start spending money again. Xi's Beijing lacks the will and the power to turn China's economy around. At the heart of its problems is a lack of consumer demand and a property market going through a deep, slow-moving correction. Plus, there's Xi, who seems fairly uninterested in restructuring the property market.

As Tehran watches its most prized non-state ally take a beating, questions are mounting about how it may respond. Israel then began an air assault that killed several Hezbollah commanders and led to the highest number of casualties in Lebanon in almost two decades. The Israeli military has claimed that Nasrallah has been killed, but Hezbollah is yet to comment on the matter. What’s more surprising, however, is that one House Democratic just introduced a bill to codify Trump’s 10% across-the-board tariffs, revealing how the long-dormant trade policy splits both parties. But they largely fell out of favor during the late 20th century as the U.S. led a global free trade revolution. Despite Harris and other attacks on Trump's tariffs, the Biden-Harris administration decided to keep some of the tariffs Trump imposed during his first term on Chinese steel and aluminum and even increase the fees on strategic sectors like electric vehicles and semiconductors. Still, Biden and Harris have consistently criticized across-the-board tariffs as “indiscriminate” instruments that risk “undermining our alliances,” arguing targeted sanctions do not carry the inflationary risks of wider spread one. Most say the data is clear that freer trade leads to greater economic growth and they say Trump's across-the-board tariffs would raise inflation and could cost jobs.
