New York CNN —Journalists from multiple news organizations have been denied credentials to former President Donald Trump’s election night watch event in West Palm Beach, Florida, in retaliation for their coverage of Trump’s campaign. Reporters at Politico, Axios, Puck, Voice of America and Mother Jones were among those denied credentials. Some, like Politico, had been previously granted access to the Tuesday night event only to have the decision reversed. But around the time Palmeri published a piece about “anxiety” within the Trump campaign, her credential was denied. The Trump campaign and his former administration have a history of revoking credentials for reporters, often in retribution over their coverage.

Kevin Lamarque | ReutersTensions are likely running high in Kyiv ahead of Tuesday's presidential election in the U.S. — a vote that could make or break ongoing aid for Ukraine. Officials in Kyiv say the election is being watched closely, amid concerns that future aid could be cut. In the week before the presidential election, Western officials were reported as saying that a Harris administration would likely struggle to push significant aid for Ukraine through Congress. A win by Donald Trump could see him placing a phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin as early as 6 November. They have also considered the impact of potential tariffs proposed by former President Donald Trump. Some on Wall Street view a Harris win as a potential obstacle for antitrust and megacap technology stocks. "Regulatory scrutiny will probably help a lot of M & A activity under Trump — Harris, it'll be a little more of the status quo," said Jay Woods, chief global strategist at Freedom Capital Markets. This could "slow the pace of the AI revolution," he said in a recent post to X that also called a Harris win "more bullish" for the industry. Some investors also view Tesla as a likely winner under a Trump administration, given CEO Elon Musk's close ties to the former president.

CNN —Several non-credible bomb threats that briefly disrupted voting at two Georgia polling places originated from Russia, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters Tuesday. “Anything that can get us to fight amongst ourselves - they can count that as a victory.”Raffensperger, a Republican, did not elaborate on how exactly state officials determined the bomb threats came from Russia. The non-credible threats caused the temporary closure of polling places at the Etris Community Center and Gullatt Elementary in Union City, just outside of Atlanta, according to Fulton County Police. An officer told him and other voters they couldn’t enter the site to vote because of a bomb threat. “They had to remove all the workers, they couldn’t let anyone in until they assessed the threats,” said Osborne.

Generally, a Trump win is seen as positive for financials given a higher likelihood of deregulation for companies in the space. Traditional oil and gas names are also likely to benefit under a second Trump presidency. One is made up of stocks that benefit after a Harris win; the other would outperform under a second Trump presidency. However, a Harris win is expected to keep current regulation measures in place, and possibly introduce new ones. Private equity giants KKR and Blackstone would also benefit under a Trump win.

Research shows that ordering food for delivery has gotten expensive, yet demand remains high. But demand for food delivery has remained high — as has its price. Last week, food delivery company DoorDash, reported an 18% rise in orders year over year in its third quarter of 2024. A food delivery driver previously told BI that he decides to accept or pass on a variety of deliveries often based on the highest upfront tips. But despite lockdowns coming to an end and the country gradually opening back up, people grew accustomed to the trend of ordering food.

Legal experts told NBC News that the disclosure could have legal fallout for Musk across multiple jurisdictions under laws designed to protect consumers from deceptive practices. Chris Gober, a lawyer for America PAC, made the disclosure at a hearing about the giveaways. Elon Musk awarded Kristine Fishell a $1 million check at a town hall in Pittsburgh on Oct. 20. Typically under state law, “this is actually bread and butter stuff for them,” he said in a direct message. The Justice Department, which had warned Musk’s super PAC that its offer may run afoul of federal election law, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A Pennsylvania judge on Monday declined an effort by the Philadelphia district attorney to stop Elon Musk’s America PAC from doling out cash prizes to registered voters. The judge's injunction means Musk's PAC will be able to do one last giveaway on Tuesday, the last day of the offer. The America PAC giveaway has promised million-dollar checks to some voters and $47 and $100 payments to other registered voters who signed a political pledge in swing states. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner sued Musk and America PAC last month, alleging that the giveaways were an illegal, unregulated lottery, but at a hearing Monday, America PAC attorney Chris Gober said it wasn’t a lottery because winners aren’t determined by chance. Musk’s legal team delayed this hearing last week, filing to move the case to federal court.

The euro rose 0.4% to $1.0876 but faces resistance around $1.0905, while the dollar dipped 0.3% on the yen to 152.45 yen . Analysts believe Trump's policies on immigration, tax cuts and tariffs would put upward pressure on inflation, bond yields and the dollar, while Harris was seen as the continuity candidate. "A Harris win and a split Congress would likely result in 'Trump trades' quickly reversed and priced out," he added. Uncertainty over the outcome is one reason markets assume the Federal Reserve will choose to cut rates by a standard 25 basis points on Thursday, rather than repeat its outsized half-point easing. Futures imply a 99% chance of a quarter-point cut to 4.50%-4.75%, and an 83% probability of a similar-sized move in December.
