On Friday's episode of ABC's "Shark Tank," billionaire Mark Cuban left a deal in less than two on-screen minutes for a different reason: the "dumbest marketing move ever." But they made their fatal error early: They gave Cuban, the owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, an air freshener with the Golden State Warriors' logo on it. "You got to read your room," Cuban said, throwing down the air freshener. Ride FRSH had made $1.1 million in revenue in three years since launching, due largely to its subscription model. She offered $200,000 for 25% of Ride FRSH, contingent on their pending partnerships becoming official.

A massive snowstorm in Buffalo has caused the NFL to move Sunday's Bills and Browns game to Detroit. On Friday, the Bills shared photos of Highmark Stadium buried in snow. The Bills Mafia shared reaction to the announcement on Twitter and pitched in to help Bills players. By the next day, Highmark Stadium was buried in a thick blanket of snow. The team took to social media to share evidence of the storm, and their fans — known as the Bills Mafia — weren't pleased.
New York residents in Buffalo and other parts of the state are waking up Friday morning to heavy snowfall that officials warn could "paralyze" the hardest hit communities. This has led to an increase in lake effect snow, but that trend is not expected to last. A recent study used a regional climate model to investigate these changes in lake effect snow if our current rate of greenhouse gas emissions continues. By mid-century, the amount of seasonal lake effect snow is projected to increase modestly, as the Great Lakes will remain ice-free longer into the winter. Lake Effect Snow Warnings were in effect early Friday for the Buffalo area and downwind areas of Lake Ontario, the National Weather Service said.
As of Friday morning, Erie County, home to Buffalo, has seen three feet of snow in areas like Orchard Park, 33 inches of snow in Hamburg and about 19.5 inches in southeast Buffalo. The "historic" winter storm is bringing what is known as lake-effect snow, which occurs when arctic air races across the relatively milder waters of the Great Lakes. Kathy Hochul did the same for 11 counties in the western and the northwestern parts of the state near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Erie County issued a driving ban, including the southern part of Buffalo, according to a tweet from Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz. A recent study used a regional climate model to investigate these changes in lake-effect snow if the current rate of greenhouse gas emissions continues.

The squalls could persist through Sunday, creating sporadic bursts of intense snowfall along narrow bands that could amount to 4-1/2 feet (1.4 meters) of snow in some locations. Buffalo is New York state's second most populous city with some 278,000 residentsNearly 6,500 customers were without power in the Buffalo area as of Friday morning, according to Poweroutage.us. Although the winter season does not officially begin for another five weeks, the National Weather Service posted winter storm warnings, winter weather advisories and lake-effect snow warnings across all western New York areas downwind of the Great Lakes. While the storm was not expected to break weather records, weather service meteorologist Liz Jurkowski said it could rank in the top five snow accumulations over the last 20 years.

CNN —The Carolina Panthers’ dominance in their running game proved enough to hold off a late Atlanta Falcons comeback attempt on a rainy Thursday Night Football. Carolina quarterback PJ Walker finished with 108 passing yards and – after being benched last week with two interceptions – a flawless evening on that front. Vance, the “Hillbilly Elegy” author who was a searing Donald Trump critic before converting into one of his most loyal allies, has defeated Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan in Ohio’s Senate race, NBC News projects. Portman’s prior success and Trump’s two comfortable Ohio victories made Ryan, 49, a heavy underdog. Polls from the summer and into early fall showed Ryan tied with Vance, though surveys in the closing weeks suggested Vance was pulling ahead. Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Tim Ryan speaks in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday. Vance, by contrast, had little money to counter Ryan’s ads and drew complaints from Ohio GOP leaders that he was coasting toward the general election.

ATLANTA — Trailing in the polls, Stacey Abrams is attempting to tie her GOP rival, Georgia Gov. Vance and his allies are taking the same approach with voters who are considering supporting GOP Gov. In the case of Fetterman, “It’s saying a vote for Oz is a vote for Mastriano,” Horwitt said. In Georgia, Walker’s internal polling and other GOP polls shared with NBC News show Warnock doing better among Democratic voters than Walker is among Republican voters. “There is a concerted effort to target Republican households where someone voted in 2018 but another family member didn’t.

CNN —Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson may be 20 years apart in age, but both quarterbacks have a special bond. BEREA, Ohio — Suspended Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s status with the NFL has not been affected by a new civil lawsuit filed by a woman accusing him of sexual misconduct two years ago, the league said Friday. Watson is serving an 11-game suspension for alleged sexual misconduct while he played for the Houston Texans. On Thursday, the woman filed a lawsuit in Texas that alleges Watson pressured her into performing a sex act after a massage in 2020. Watson is only permitted to attend meetings with the Browns and work out as he moves toward a possible return, according to the suspension imposed by the NFL. The Browns traded for Watson in March and signed him to a five-year, $240 million contract.
