CNN —Taylor Swift fans are in their record-breaking era. The “Swift Quake” has been compared to the 2011 “Beast Quake,” when Seattle Seahawks fans erupted after an impressive touchdown by running back Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch. The ensuing celebration was detected on the same local seismometer as the Swift concert, Caplan-Auerbach told CNN. Seismograms compare seismic activity from the 2011 'Beast Quake' with activity recorded during one of Taylor Swift's July concerts in Seattle. While the magnitude difference between “Beast Quake” and “Swift Quake” is only 0.3, Caplan-Auerbach said the Swifties have the Seahawks fans beat.

The fashion designer and former Spice Girl, also known as “Posh Spice,” serenaded a small room full of cheering friends – including her husband, soccer star David Beckham – with an iconic Spice Girls track, as seen in a video of the impromptu performance that she shared on her TikTok over the weekend. Microphone in hand, Beckham was seen singing the girl group’s hit 1996 track “Say You’ll be There” while dancing with husband David, who was also joyfully singing along to every word. The British girl group released their debut album “Spice” in 1996, and went on a hiatus in 2000 to pursue solo careers. CNN —The cause of death for British actor Julian Sands, who went missing in the mountains of Southern California in January and was later found dead, has been cited as “undetermined,” CNN has confirmed. “The cause is ‘Undetermined’ due to the condition of the body and because no other factors were discovered during the coroner’s investigation, this is common when dealing with cases of this type. This is the final determination,” Mara Rodriguez, public information officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Department, told CNN in a statement on Monday. Last month, human remains found in the San Gabriel mountains were determined to be those of Sands, CNN confirmed at the time. Weather conditions had hindered search efforts in the weeks following his disappearance, but officials announced a renewed effort to locate Sands in June.

CNN —A Los Angeles County Superior judge ordered actor Pete Davidson to complete an 18-month diversion program after the actor was charged with reckless driving in connection with a car crash in Beverly Hills earlier this year, CNN has confirmed. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney (LACDA) said on Monday that as part of the program, Davidson is required to complete 50 hours of community service, which can be completed in New York, LACDA said. In June, a spokesperson for the LACDA confirmed to CNN in a statement that Davidson was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. “We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home,” the statement read. We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences.”The March 4 incident happened around 11 pm PT, when a vehicle Davidson was driving on a residential street crashed into a fire hydrant and a home.

CNN —The inimitable Taylor Swift has been on her record-breaking “Eras” tour and along the way, she’s played a different “surprise song” to change up the setlist at every concert. On Saturday during her Seattle concert, Swift’s surprise song was an acoustic version of “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” a “Reputation” album track that’s been long-speculated by Swifties to be about Kanye West, who has notoriously clashed in public with the singer through the years. It all started, as if we could forget, when the “Gold Digger” rapper notoriously interrupted Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards while she was accepting the award for best female video. The artists clashed again in a 2016 dispute over whether or not the rapper cleared lyrics with Swift for his song “Famous,” wherein he calls Swift a “b—” and takes credit for her fame. Despite the fact that a handful of songs from the 2017 album are played regularly on the “Eras” tour, “Nice Things” serves as a very specific reminder of what may bubble up when the “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” album eventually comes out.

CNN —Like Lana Del Rey’s apparent new gig moonlighting as a waitress at an Alabama Waffle House, late night icon David Letterman, too, landed a new job… sort of. Letterman is seen in the video perusing the aisles of the Hy-Vee, bagging groceries, eating uncooked minestrone soup and telling customers on the loudspeaker that “today and today only,” celery was free. Letterman was reportedly in Des Moines over the weekend to attend the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race, where Christian Lundgaard was driving the No. Last week, videos showing the singer donning a Waffle House uniform while serving customers from behind the counter began to circulate on social media. Letterman and Del Rey aren’t the only famous faces to surprise patrons as unsuspecting staff members in recent months.

CNN —Matt Damon turned down a major role years ago – except this role was one that could have made the Oscar-winner upwards of $250 million. “Water” sits behind “Avatar” and “Avengers: Endgame,” which has grossed nearly $2.8 billion since its release in 2019. It’s a decision that may haunt him, but all signs seem to indicate that Damon did just fine without venturing around Cameron’s planet of Pandora. For now, Damon stars in director Christopher Nolan’s latest war-era epic “Oppenheimer,” which premieres in theaters on Friday. As for Damon’s claim that his decision resulted in the most money an actor has declined ever, that’s debatable.
