User data from 23andMe accounts has been leaked and put up for sale on a dark web forum. The data appears to have been gathered from user credentials that were exposed in prior data breaches, and the company's security systems have not been breached, according to 23andMe. In other words, the hackers plugged in leaked username-password combinations into 23andMe accounts in a technique known as "credential stuffing." Those with European or Ashkenazi ancestry are likely to have many matches via the DNA Relatives feature compared to people with Asian or Middle Eastern ancestry, 23andMe also notes on its website. The company — which shares anonymized user data with their consent with third parties — is encouraging users to enable multi-factor authentication to prevent further attacks.

CNN —Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia has successfully carried out a test of a new generation of nuclear-powered cruise missile. State news agency RIA Novosti quoted Putin as saying the “last successful test of the Burevestnik, a global-range cruise missile with a nuclear installation, a nuclear propulsion system, has been conducted.”Putin was speaking at the Valdai Forum in Sochi. The program to develop the Burevestnik was announced by Putin in March 2018 as part of a broader initiative to develop a new generation of intercontinental and hypersonic missiles. Among them were the Kinzhal ballistic missile and the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle. “It is a low-flying stealth missile carrying a nuclear warhead, with almost unlimited range, unpredictable trajectory and ability to bypass interception boundaries,” Putin said then.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. astronaut Frank Rubio, who broke the record for the longest continuous spaceflight by an American, and two Russian cosmonauts began their journey back to Earth on Wednesday when their space capsule undocked from the International Space Station. "The undocking has taken place," Moscow mission control said. The capsule will shoot towards Earth and is due to enter the Earth's atmosphere at 10:55 GMT. It will then unfurl a parachute and is due to land in the grassland steppe of Kazakhstan at 11:17 GMT, according to Russia's space corporation, Roscosmos. Rubio is travelling back to earth with Russian cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev, 48, and Dmitry Petelin, 40.

A NASA astronaut safely returned to Earth on Wednesday after spending 371 days in space, a record in spaceflight for American astronauts. Frank Rubio of NASA and his crewmates, the Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, made a safe, parachute-assisted landing southeast of the remote town of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, at 7:17 a.m. Eastern time. After post-landing medical exams, the crew will return to Karaganda, Kazakhstan. Mr. Rubio will then board a NASA plane bound for his return to Houston where he lives with his family. “For me, honestly, obviously, hugging my wife and kids is going to be paramount, and I’ll probably focus on that for the first couple days,” Mr. Rubio said during a news conference from space last week.
