Manager 1 and I frequently host trainings, too, but we never thought to brand them and tell the entire organization. Though I am angry she is playing the game better than I am, I don’t want my job to be a game! I prefer to come in and do a good job at my actual job description! But, with all the visibility she earns, I am beginning to feel like the work of my actual job isn’t what matters. There are ways of “playing the game” that don’t feel like you’re playing the game.

As of January 3rd, it held above its 50-day moving average, bouncing off resistance points around $8.83 and $8.94 with minor pullbacks. The stock had a strong 150- and 200-day average uptrend.

One investor says growth stocks still offer opportunities — but it's time to get selective. "Growth stocks will continue to outperform value stocks, generally speaking. Growth stocks are expected to grow rapidly, but do not pay out dividends and are often often more expensive than so-called value stocks. When considering which stocks to buy, Coons stressed the importance of valuations. "I would stay away from growth stocks outperforming because of story and invest in those with real revenue and earnings growth."

Connected fitness company Hydrow, which Peloton once tried to buy, is growing sales and has acquired a majority stake in strength training company Speede Fitness as gymgoers move away from cardio exercises in favor of weights, the company told CNBC on Thursday. It said it acquired Speede Fitness so it can expand into strength training, one of the fastest-growing segments in fitness today. Hydrow's acquisition and sales growth come as Peloton, which is credited with creating the connected fitness market, struggles to turn around a slowing business. Hydrow's delivered unit sales for its connected rowing machine jumped 23% this year from the year-ago period. A small tweak in BlackRock's model portfolio turned a sleepy fund into one of the market's fastest growing active ETFs overnight. BlackRock added the U.S. Equity Factor Rotation ETF (DYNF) to its target allocation model portfolio in mid-March. The growth of DYNF sits at the center of two broader trends — rapid growth of model portfolios and the proliferation of active ETFs. Model portfolios are strategies offered by asset managers to investors and financial advisors. Meanwhile, model portfolios that want to add active management may not be able to add the best-performers in a category.

Investors in Blackstone's real-estate fund asked for their money back in droves — more than $15 billion to date. Unless the real-estate market comes roaring back, analysts warn, BREIT could end up shrinking to a fraction of its current size, leaving the fund's investors holding the bag. Arone spoke with Before the Bell to outline three things about markets right now “that investors should know, but probably don’t.”1. You write that investors might be surprised to hear that small- and mid-cap stocks have outperformed large-cap stocks over the past five months. Why do you think that’s surprising, and what does it say about markets? Most investors think that the S&P 500 has been outperforming everything else, largely dragged up by the performance of the Magnificent 7 (Amazon, Tesla, Alphabet, Meta, Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia). The big beneficiaries of that, I think, would be a surprise for most investors — those mid-cap stocks and small-cap stocks.

Invigorating growth is critical: When the economy expands, it improves standards of living, promotes innovation and makes households wealthier. Economic growth in Spain and France was stronger than expected last year. But the US is outperforming mainly for one key reason: Robust productivity growth. Productivity growth came in well below expectations in the first three months of the year, according to Labor Department data released last week. A “course correction” isn’t an even stronger US economy: Economic policymakers around the world need to address a range of key issues.

New York CNN —It’s “sell in May and go away” season. All three major indexes broke five-month winning streaks as hotter-than-expected inflation data stoked fears that interest rate cuts will come later than forecast. The central bank kept interest rates on hold at a 23-year high at its policy meeting. Persistent inflation has kept long-anticipated rate cuts on the backburner. In an effort to navigate a market that remains highly concentrated under Big Tech's dominance, but also ripe for stock pickers, Barclays has dozens of stocks that share similar characteristics to the tech heavyweights. However, some select Big Tech remained fairly strong throughout the sell-off, with stocks like Alphabet and Apple bucking the downtrend. While Big Tech valuations still appear reasonable to Barclays analyst Venu Krishna, he pointed out that they're "not the only game in town," and suggested investors diversify their portfolios to beat their benchmarks. Yet, market returns, earnings upside, and institutional investor exposure remain highly concentrated in Big Tech," Krishna said in a Tuesday note. Aside from allowing investors to diversify, these stocks come with strong fundamentals based on profitability, balance sheet strength, cash conversion, and growth-adjusted valuation characteristics that closely resemble those of Big Tech stocks, the firm said.

Investors should look to energy stocks as stubborn inflation weighs on the stock market amid growing anxiety over whether the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at all this year, according to Wolfe Research. "This inability to adequately tame inflation of course coincides with the reacceleration of Oil and Energy stocks over the past few months," analysts Rob Ginsberg and Read Harvey told clients in a Monday note. The Wolfe analysts said investors should take advantage of any near-term overbought consolidations and make a play for the stock to rise back into the mid $40s. Crude oil and the 10-year breakeven inflation rate, meanwhile, are both on the upswing from multiyear bases, according to the Wolfe analysts. "Needless to say, we want to keep playing Oil and Energy stocks to the upside over near – mid term, which should in turn put continued upward pressure on inflation," the Wolfe analysts said.
