While parents have used location-tracking apps to keep an eye on their kids since the tech was invented, millennials and Gen Zers are now turning the all-seeing eye onto their parents. The kids who grew up with extra watchful parents are now carefully eyeing their parents' every move. While phones lacked tracking technology when Shafer was younger, her parents set hard limits on which hours she could use her first cellphone and whom she could contact. She described her mom and dad's parenting style as "very typical of overbearing parents, especially immigrant parents." And more parents are tracking their kids in college to help quell their anxiety about the separation.

AdvertisementWater temperature is too hotA lot of people think hot water should be the default go-to temperature. While hot water is going to give you the best clean, using it often isn't necessary or good for your laundry. I like to think of hot water washes as calling in the power washer — it's for when something is really stained, dirty, or smelly. But there are ways to get an extra good clean without always using hot water. Plus, you reduce your energy usage by 90% when you stop using hot water to clean clothes.

But the 43-year-old says he has been building up to this success all his life. "Many people think, 'He was LeBron's friend, LeBron gave him a job,'" Paul said during an appearance at CNBC x Boardroom's Game Plan Summit. The market for nonalcoholic drinks has been growing as more people — notably younger adults — look to cut their alcohol use. Bowdring says there’s emerging evidence that nonalcoholic beverages may prime kids to switch to the real thing. Surveys of elementary, middle and high school students in Japan, where the legal drinking age is 20, found that 20% to 30% said they were drinking nonalcoholic beverages. So minors in those states can buy nonalcoholic drinks but not those with low levels of alcohol. For minors, there’s no benefit in consuming nonalcoholic drinks, and there is some evidence of potential harm, she said — which is why she thinks states need to step in to curb sales.

I felt a tremendous sense of guilt when my mother unexpectedly died on Christmas Eve in 2004 at the young age of 48. I think some of it stems from the guilt I've felt over her death. "But it's not a given that if your mom or dad died young, you're definitely going to die young." "Guilt is there because our culture does not provide children, especially young ones, with the reason why their parents died," she explains. Soon, she says, I will begin to realize that just because my mother died young doesn't mean I will, too.

CNN —Almost three decades ago, Richard Hays, a United Methodist minister and the soon-to-be dean of Duke Divinity School, wrote what quickly became the go-to traditionalist Christian argument against same-sex marriage. Fuller Theological Seminary, where Christopher Hays is a professor, also demands agreement with a faith statement that opposes same-sex marriage. Even as support for same-sex marriage has plateaued in the last few years, recent surveys from Gallup find that more than one in five Gen Z Americans identify as LGBTQ, and nearly 90% of Americans under 30 years old support same-sex marriage. The reversal from Hays certainly will not settle the debate among Christians when it comes from same-sex marriage. But I hope it makes opponents of same-sex marriage at least pause and wonder — is there a faithful path forward that makes room for people like me?
