Some large-cap tech stocks are likely to fare better than others if investors continue to move into smaller companies. Artificial intelligence-adjacent mega-cap tech titans have been the driving force behind the current bull market rally, which began last October. Nvidia — with a market value above $2.9 trillion — has soared 136% this year alone, after climbing 239% in 2023. But a combination of disappointing tech earnings and impending interest rate cuts has weakened some of the bullish sentiment toward mega-caps. Analysts see potential price upside of 10% in AI-adjacent stock ServiceNow .

But Patricia Mahan and Dan Matarazzo, from the US, have opted to do it twice in the past two decades. The retired pair, who’ve been married for 37 years, left the States for Mexico in 2006, before swapping Mexico for Greece last year. “When we first moved to our little stone house, all our neighbors brought over gifts of food and produce,” says Mahan. The couple say they’ve tried to put them own stamp on it while “honoring its traditional style,” adding skylights and repainting the walls. ‘Older culture’The couple often go on hikes together and spend afternoon at the beach either swimming or reading.

Why Chinese Propaganda Loves Foreign Travel Bloggers
  + stars: | 2024-07-31 | by ( Vivian Wang | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
Spend some time browsing YouTube or Instagram and you might come across a growing new genre: China travel vlogs. The videos are even more popular on Chinese social media. YouTube and Instagram are banned in China, but Chinese users have found ways to reshare them to Chinese sites, to avid followings. The bloggers have been interviewed by Chinese state media and their experiences promoted with trending hashtags such as “Foreign tourists have become our internet spokespeople.”The emergence of these videos reflects the return of foreign travelers to China after the country isolated itself for three years during the Covid pandemic. Travel bloggers have leaped at the chance to see a country to which they previously had limited access.

By some measures, visiting China has never been easier. China has been making a huge push to attract foreign tourists in recent months. The goal is to signal that China is open for business — and fun! The government is especially keen to attract visitors as it tries to rev up growth. China also wants to show that it is still connected to the world, despite tensions with the West and the growing reach of its security apparatus at home.

The United Arab Emirates is on track to be the world's top wealth magnet for the third year running, according to the Henley Private Wealth Migration Report. "There are push and pull factors for this trend of millionaires opting to relocate to Dubai," Karim Jetha, a longtime regional investor who relocated to the UAE from the U.K. during the pandemic, told CNBC. "Pull factors include Dubai's perception of being extremely safe and visa reforms that encourage migration." The UAE is set to see a record net inflow of 6,700 millionaires from around the world by the end of 2024, according to the Henley report, which was released in June. That's nearly double the second-ranked country on the list, the U.S., which is expected to welcome a net inflow of 3,800 millionaires in the same time frame.

So far, most of the AI winners have been confined to players further up the value chain, such as data center providers and semiconductor chip producers at the backbone of AI technology. As the buildout phase of AI matures, investors are looking further down the value chain for monetization opportunities, whether it be for consumers or businesses. Ayako Yoshioka, senior portfolio manager at Wealth Enhancement Group, sees three parts of the market that could see profit enhancements from the adoption of AI. 3 non-tech AI opportunitiesThere's significant potential for the healthcare sector to reap the benefits of AI. The popular Southeast Asia destination recently introduced a new five-year visa targeted at remote workers and other travelers looking to stay in the kingdom for extended periods. According to a statement issued by the Thai prime minister’s office, the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) will allow eligible travelers a period of stay up to 180 days per visit, on a multiple-entry basis, within five years. Thailand certainly isn’t alone in its desire to bring travelers in for longer periods. “A global trend we have observed throughout the post-Covid-19 period has been that travelers are staying at destinations for longer,” he says. “These measures will likely enhance the appeal of Thailand for long-term visitors, potentially increasing these proportions over time.”

While most people wouldn't decline a backup option in another country, the process of obtaining a secondary passport can be quite complicated — and expensive. Business Insider spoke to Judi Galst, who manages Henley & Partners' New York office, about the general steps required to get a secondary passport. AdvertisementThe specific requirements vary by country, Galst said. Countries like Spain are slow for citizenship approval, but have a relatively quick path to residence through investment, Galst said. The Caribbean has the lowest cost, and it requires a $200,000 contribution or $300,000 investment in real estate per application.
