SINGAPORE, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Donald Trump's aides filed paperwork for his 2024 White House bid on Tuesday as the former president launched a run to regain the title, aiming to pre-empt potential Republican rivals. Republicans are meanwhile closing in on the 218 seats they need to take a majority in the 435-seat House of Representatives. COMMENTS:ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI, FOUNDER, SKYBRIDGE CAPITAL, SINGAPORE (FORMER WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR)"You know how you have a zombie that you can’t kill, like in the Night of the Walking Dead? If any one of those other candidates can present themselves with some of the Trump messaging without the Trump drama, there might be opportunities." Neil Young said 'it's better to burn out than fade away'...feels like Trump will go down this time with little glory."
Attabotics' all-in-one automated fulfillment system is condensed into a single vertical structure, using robotic shuttles to pick goods and then deliver to workers. Attabotics, a 3-D robotics supply chain company, has raised $71.7 million in new funding to continue its push into automatizing warehouses. The raise comes amid the push to further optimize shipping fulfillment and warehouse technology as e-commerce continues to grow. Amazon has steadily added to its fleet of warehouse robots since it acquired Kiva Systems for $775 million in 2012, which has now become Amazon Robotics, the company's in-house incubator of robotic fulfillment systems. In June, Amazon unveiled its first fully autonomous robot that can operate alongside warehouse workers, in addition to other systems that can sort and move packages.

And now, he can add Germany to the list as the NFL’s most decorated player adds another accolade to his ever-expanding collection. “It felt like a pretty hyped up game when we came out for warm-ups.

Shift in power ... and Ukraine support? Russia could well hope that a shift in power after the the midterm elections could herald a cooler attitude toward Ukraine. "The attention of many leaders has been going to other issues," said Espinosa, who led the U.N. climate change body - called the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, or UNFCCC - from 2016 until July this year. "This is a very important conference in order to really get again the issue of addressing climate change very, very high up on the agenda," she told Reuters. Countries' national climate pledges put the world on track to warm by 2.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, overshooting the 1.5C threshhold beyond which scientists say climate change impacts will significantly worsen. Putin's time in the KGB helps explain his worldview and brutal approach to warfare, ex-spies say. A former KGB agent told Insider the biggest thing Putin learned from the Soviet spy agency was "how to lie." But ex-spies and Russia experts told Insider that Putin's time in the KGB — the Soviet Union's primary and much-feared security agency — played an instrumental role in shaping his mindset. "Putin's KGB background tells us a lot about how he thinks and how he sees the war. He is a creation of the KGB, and the KGB was a terrorist organization," John Sipher, a former CIA officer who served in Russia, told Insider.
According to Indeed, new graduates struggle to get hired after college due to high competition, inadequate work experience and little networking. Here are three ways young professionals can stand out, according to Lisa Lewin, CEO of education company General Assembly. According to Lewin, these skills include software engineering, data analytics, data engineering, data science, digital marketing skills and digital product management. And technical skills don't "just apply to IT-based roles," Lewin says. "They include whatever hard skills you've obtained through education and practice, and young professionals should remember to highlight them in their job application materials."
The headscarf was once a source of deep discord in Muslim but secular Turkey, but ceased to stir controversy after reforms by the Islamist-rooted AKP during its 20 years in power. "We are ready to take other steps including a referendum," Erdogan told AKP deputies in parliament. The AKP was to hold talks with three opposition parties, including the largest Republican People's Party (CHP), broadcaster CNN Turk said. When Leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu announced the CHP's planned legislation on the headscarf in early October, Erdogan responded by saying the issue had already been resolved. Erdogan and AKP lawmakers have toughened their rhetoric against LGBT+ people in recent years, frequently labeling them "deviants" or "perverts" and raising concerns among members of the community.
The Lowy Institute's annual Pacific Aid Map showed Chinese aid to the region dropped to $187 million in 2020, its lowest since the institute began tracking aid flows in 2008. Chinese aid, predominantly loans for infrastructure, had peaked in 2016. The project director of the Pacific Aid Map, Alexandre Dayant, said development assistance remained a diplomatic tool for Beijing, with regional aid focusing on Kiribati and Solomon Islands, which switched diplomatic ties from Taiwan to Beijing a year earlier. Australia last week said it would spend another A$900 million ($576.99 million) in Pacific aid. The United States has also pledged $800 million more after hosting a dozen Pacific islands leaders at a White House summit in September.
Intel's Mobileye unit valued at $22 bln as shares cruise higher

The debut comes after a turbulent period when Mobileye settled for merely a third of the $50 billion valuation it was targeting earlier in its IPO. But there was a lot of value in gaining that public company platform now,” said Dan Galves, chief communications officer at Mobileye. Galves added it is important for Mobileye to generate product visibility now as that filters back to customers. Before being acquired by chipmaker Intel in a $15.3 billion deal in 2017, Mobileye had been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2014. Mobileye develops autonomous driving technologies and competes with Alphabet Inc's (GOOGL.O) Waymo, General Motors Co's (GM.N) Cruise and other automakers who have moved to design in-house driving assistance technology.

Transactions made with buy now, pay later firms, through which consumers pay in often interest-free installments over weeks or months, surged during an e-commerce boom triggered by coronavirus lockdowns. At the moment, that growth will be within Mexico's borders, where credit card penetration is less than 12%, Miller said. In April, Nelo launched a virtual credit card with Mastercard (MA.N), which allows users to generate a one-time card for purchases through the app. Miller said the company uses an underwriting algorithm to determine credit limits and interest rates, and checks users' credit history with Mexico's credit bureaus. CNN —Flexing different muscles, Marvel’s “Werewolf by Night” is a nifty Halloween-timed special designed as a black-and-white homage to the Universal monster movies of the 1930s and ’40s. A brisk 50-ish minutes, the program assumes a fair amount of comic-book knowledge and hits the ground running, with an assembly of monster hunters brought together to compete for the Bloodstone, a supernatural artifact. He’s pursuing a very different agenda – and thanks to Man-Thing, another Marvel character from the early 1970s, not the only monster unleashed. Seen in that light, in fact, “Werewolf by Night” could be the dawn of an intriguing new day. “Werewolf by Night” premieres October 7 on Disney+.
It also shed light on the deficient representation Syed received from his counsel, who was disbarred just a year after Syed’s conviction. A judge in Maryland granted Syed a new trial, and an appellate court upheld that decision. It agreed that the performance of Syed’s trial counsel in investigating the case was unacceptable but concluded that the proof presented against Syed at trial was too strong for that deficiency to have made a difference. They have the right to see the prosecutors’ evidence before trial and to confront their witnesses in court. For convicted defendants like Syed, journalists are often the only remaining hope.

In the Empire State, recreational marijuana sales could balloon to $7 billion once the market is fully established. The state's limited medical cannabis program has also seen expansion under the new adult-use bill. The list of qualifying medical conditions for medical cannabis was expanded, along with product options. The exceptions to this may be existing medical operators wishing to transition to adult-use and microbusinesses. Analysts say this makes sense as the industry matures and cannabis companies begin to think of themselves as consumer product companies.
