In a statement posted on social media in August, Sinner said the positive tests stemmed from “inadvertent contamination of Clostebol” through treatment from his physiotherapist. … The physiotherapist treated Jannik without gloves and coupled with various skin lesions on Jannik’s body caused the inadvertent contamination.”WADA announced that it is appealing the decision that cleared Sinner after he tested positive for a banned substance. As WADA announced its appeal on Saturday, he was playing in the round of 16 at the China Open where he defeated Roman Safiullin.

Nearly 1 in 3 Americans may have an undiagnosed iron deficiency, a problem that can lead to fatigue, brain fog and difficulty concentrating, a new study suggests. An analysis of data from more than 8,000 adults in the U.S. revealed that 14% had low iron blood levels, a condition known as absolute iron deficiency, while 15% had the right iron levels but their bodies couldn’t use the essential mineral properly, known as functional iron deficiency, according to the report published Tuesday in JAMA Network Open. Doctors don’t typically screen adults for iron deficiency, which is why the condition has been overlooked in many people. There had been hints in other studies suggesting iron deficiency might be more widespread than doctors assume. The rates of iron deficiency between men and women are more similar after the age of menopause, experts said.

CNN —Max Verstappen hinted on Sunday that his retirement from Formula One might be hastened after his “silly” punishment for swearing. The Red Bull driver was told by motorsport’s governing body, the FIA, that he should carry out “work of public interest” after using a swear word in a press conference on Thursday ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. When you can’t be yourself or you have to deal with these kind of silly things,” the Dutch driver told reporters, per Reuters. So, yeah, it is very, very silly,” Verstappen said.
