Dover on Thursday reported weaker-than-expected third-quarter results, pressuring shares of the industrial conglomerate with ties to AI data centers. Dover Why we own it : We own Dover as an industrial turnaround story with exposure to mega-themes, most notably the data center buildout to support artificial intelligence computing. That created headlines that implied Dover cut its full-year guidance, but in reality executives warned in advance that sales growth and earnings projections would be altered. To be sure, we are restricted from trading Dover's stock for the next 72 hours because Jim Cramer on Thursday mentioned the company on CNBC TV. Dover considers those areas its "growth platforms," and their increasing share of the portfolio carries positive implications for Dover's margins.

Shares of carmaker Hyundai 's Indian subsidiary started trading this week with much anticipation, only to drop by some 7% on its debut. Despite such success, it appears as if the stock market has given Hyundai the cold shoulder this week. First, the money raised by the stock market listing is being fed back to Hyundai's Korean parent. With the listing, the Indian subsidiary now commands nearly half the market capitalization of its Korean parent. However, the Indian subsidiary must now pay a flat 3.5% of total revenue going forward.

Below, two gold experts share four ways investors can add gold to their portfolios. AdvertisementIn general, physical gold is a less liquid way to own the asset and is quite costly. Synthetic gold ETFs don't hold physical gold, investing instead in gold derivatives such as futures and options. In Milling-Stanley's opinion, investing in mining stocks instead of directly investing in gold erodes some of the metal's portfolio protection, as mining stocks behave more in line with the general equity market. Royalties limit the holder's exposure to the risks associated with directly investing in mines, such as exploration, development, and regulatory compliance.

Investors should be wary of Tesla 's post-earnings rally, JPMorgan said. The electric vehicle maker reported adjusted earnings per share of 72 cents, topping the expectation of 58 cents from analysts polled by LSEG. Still, the earnings beat appeared to be enough to send shares nearly 16% higher Thursday, making it the best performer in the Nasdaq 100 as the trading day kicked off. Yet JPMorgan analyst Ryan Brinkman has some qualms. While the analyst lifted his price target by $5 to $135, that still suggests the stock can tumble nearly 37%.
