Whelan added that he and others were able to communicate with former prisoners through “burner” phones that they could acquire even while at the Russian labor camp in Mordovia. “Yeah, we had burner phones.”Whelan added that the guards “looked the other way” in exchange for goods such as cigarettes. At 11, my kid came out as nonbinary and changed her name and pronouns. I immediately accepted my kid's new name but accidentally deadnamed her on a trip. Saundrah and Annika went to get bubble tea, so I asked my kid if she wanted to go, too. When she didn't react to me deadnaming her on our trip, I realized she had made peace with the transition. I'd like to think this shift happened in part because she's been 100% supported in her gender journey.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy unveiled his much anticipated “victory plan” on Wednesday, calling on his allies to take urgent steps to bolster Kyiv at a precarious moment in a bid to end the war with Russia next year. His plan proposed establishing a “comprehensive non-nuclear strategic deterrence package” inside Ukraine to protect against threats from Russia and to destroy its military power. Zelenskyy said it was imperative Kyiv’s partners remained united. “If we start moving on this victory plan now, we may be able to end the war by next year at the latest,” he said.
