Inspiration for the product that the world didn’t know it needed came from the “unconditional love” that Domenico Dolce – one half of the famous designer duo – has for his “loyal dog Fefé,” according to the company’s website. A series of well-groomed dogs appear on camera in a promotional film on the D&G website. As classical music plays in the background, a narrator says: “I am delicate, charismatic, authentic, sensitive, enigmatic, rebel, fresh, irresistible, clean. British designer Anya Hindmarch features a dog poop-bag-holder charm on her website for £135 ($172).

Over the decades he spent in prison, sentenced to life for a fatal shooting in 1990, Christopher Dunn faced one obstacle after another as he sought to clear his name. A Missouri judge had exonerated Mr. Dunn and ordered his release from prison. Dressed in a jacket and tie, Mr. Dunn was signing the last bit of paperwork when he overheard the warden taking a call, saying, “We were just about to release him — what do you want me to do?”The state attorney general, Andrew Bailey, had intervened to keep Mr. Dunn, 52, behind bars. He was ordered to change back into his prison uniform and returned to his cell, leaving the St. Louis prosecutor, who had asked the court to clear Mr. Dunn, scrambling to free him. Mr. Bailey, who took office 17 months ago to fill out his predecessor’s term, is trying to fend off a formidable challenger as he seeks a full four-year term as the state’s top law enforcement officer.

Progressive groups have trained their criticisms on Mr. Shapiro and Mr. Kelly, who they accuse of being too conservative on key issues. The debate grew heated during a discussion about whether using the phrase “Genocide Josh” to describe Mr. Shapiro, who is an observant Jew, was antisemitic. One of his advisers called the Harris campaign to object to Mr. Shapiro, a development that was first reported by Politico.
