CNN —People who only exercise on weekends have a similar risk of developing mild dementia to those who work out more frequently, a new study has found. A team of academics from Latin America and Europe set out to determine whether the frequency of exercise affects the risk of developing mild dementia. The finding led the team to conclude that 13% of cases of mild dementia could be avoided if all middle-aged people exercised at least once or twice a week. When compared with the group that did not exercise, the weekend warriors were 13% less likely to develop mild dementia, and those in the regular and combined groups were 12% less likely. I feel quite strongly that the weekend warriors around the world should be told that what they are doing is fine.”He added: “The weekend warrior research is starting to add up now.

HONG KONG — A key piece of a little-told chapter of World War II history almost ended up in a landfill. That diary is now believed to be the only known primary source documenting the involvement of Chinese naval officers in the D-Day landings at Normandy. The 24 British-trained Chinese naval officers were forced to choose between the two sides, with many of them going on to have distinguished careers in the Chinese or Taiwanese militaries. A member of the British Parliament was suspended Sunday by the Labour Party after a video appeared to show him punching and knocking a man to the ground. Mike Amesbury, 55, from Runcorn and Helsby in northwest England, was suspended pending an investigation into the incident that took place early Saturday morning. “Last night, I was involved in an incident that took place after I felt threatened on the street following an evening out with friends,” Amesbury said. Video had surfaced Saturday on social media that appeared to show Amesbury berating a man in the street. Pointing his finger at the man, Amesbury yelled: “You won’t ever threaten me again, will you?”Amesbury had said on social media Friday that he was attending a local meeting about policing and community safety.

The cheeses were from three makers: Hafod Welsh organic cheddar, Westcombe cheddar, and Pitchfork cheddar. Neal’s Yard Dairy, a distributor, wholesaler, and retailer of British artisanal cheese, has asked international cheesemongers to be on the lookout for the stolen cheese, particularly in 10-kilogram (22-pound) and 24-kilogram (52-pound) blocks. “If anyone hears anything about posh cheese going for cheap, it’s probably some wrong’uns,” Oliver said.
