CNN —Air France has opened an investigation into how a jet flying from Paris to Dubai went over Iraq as Iranian missiles fired at Israel crossed the same airspace, the airline said Wednesday. As Hurricane Milton barrels toward Tampa Bay, some residents are saying that the resources needed to evacuate — especially gasoline — are in short supply, despite a mandate to leave the area. The plane “experienced a hard landing where basically tires blew,” airport officials told CNN. Video obtained by CNN shows flames underneath the plane and a trail of smoke after it landed. The Clark County Fire Department responded immediately, and all the passengers and crew were safely transported to the gate area, airport officials added. It comes weeks after pagers exploded simultaneously across Lebanon, followed by walkie-talkies detonating in a similar fashion. At least 37 people, including children, were killed in the twin device attacks, and nearly 3,000 others were injured, according to Lebanese officials. In its latest update Friday, Emirates, the region’s largest airline, said flights from and to Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, remain canceled up until and including October 15.
