Democratic House and Senate candidates raised eye-popping sums from July through September, according to new reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. Democrats outraised Republicans in all 11 competitive Senate races and in all but one of the 26 “toss-up” House races. Three Senate Democratic candidates — Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, Maryland’s Angela Alsobrooks and Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin — raised more than four times as much as their Republican opponents during that period. Senate Democratic candidates spent a combined $244 million to Republicans’ $91.5 million. And that massive total doesn't include fundraising by the main pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., which will file its fundraising reports by Sunday. Adelson gave $95 million to Preserve America, a super PAC she’s almost entirely funded, during the third fundraising quarter, after previously giving the group $5 million in the prior quarter. Right for America, another pro-Trump group, raised $28 million last quarter — with multimillion-dollar checks from Andreesen, Horowitz and Perlmutter as well as Perlmutter's wife, Lara. The super PAC has spent heavily on the presidential race as well as on the Wisconsin Senate and Maine 2nd Congressional District campaigns. Harris has plenty of super PAC backup, too: Future Forward (known as FF PAC) had raised $200 million through August, while MAGA Inc. had raised $280 million.

In 2023, there were 43 million single women living in the US, a 55% increase since 2000. Single women are older, more educated, and more financially independent than they were a generation earlier. In 2000, 48% of single women reported voting. And her support is growing: A recent Ipsos survey found Harris leading among single women voters by nearly 40 points.

Musk, the world's richest man, has given nearly $75 million to America PAC, the super political action committee he created earlier this year largely to back Trump, new Federal Election Commission filings reveal. Nearly $72 million of that money has already been spent, the disclosure report shows. The PAC, which was formed in late May, reports having spent a total of $102 million on the presidential race so far, FEC filings show. Unlike most super PACs, however, America PAC is not spending its money to reserve expensive television air time to run ads. Instead, the group's filings show that it is paying canvassers and funding direct mail, texts and phone banking.

But while White women with a college degree have trended toward the Democrats in the presidential campaigns since then, the White women without a college degree have moved sharply in the opposite direction. She acknowledges that Trump’s alarms have resonated among working-class White women, especially older ones.
