Mets’ tightrope walk underscores lack of trusted bullpen optionsPeterson gave the Mets essentially what they expected: 3 2/3 innings, 79 pitches. But the situation underscored the problem with the Mets’ bullpen.

CNBC's Jim Cramer believes Netflix 's innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) in its ad-supported tier is a game changer, positioning the company far ahead of its competitors. "Netflix is so far ahead of everybody else," Jim noted, adding that the Street's enthusiasm for Netflix stock on the back of Thursday's beat-and-raise quarter is largely driven by its success in AI-based advertising. Netflix's AI advantage, Cramer highlighted, is why investors are willing to pay up for the stock. He set a $1,000 price target on the stock, which implies a 30% upside from Friday's intraday high of roughly $763. Looking ahead, co-CEO Gregory Peters stated that advertising would become one of Netflix' key growth drivers during the company's post-earnings webcast Thursday.

US Air Force photo by Senior Airman Devlin BishopJohnson's tenure with the A-10 dates back to her early days in the Air Force. She graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2014 and, in December 2016, joined the 355th Training Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona as an A-10 student pilot. She piloted the A-10 in South Korea and Afghanistan before returning to Davis-Monthan as an A-10 instructor pilot and flight commander in August 2021. In March 2023, Johnson was certified as the new commander of the A-10 demo team, becoming the first female pilot to assume the role. AdvertisementTime’s almost up on the New York Mets’ season. Worse than those numbers, because teams have mounted comebacks facing such deficits, the Mets look like they have run out of gas. “Sean (Manaea) said it the other day,” Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said when asked if his rotation had hit a proverbial wall. “We’ve gone through a lot this year,” Peterson said, “and it’s made us who we are at this point.”The Mets are hoping to keep alive an improbable season that’s included Grimace and OMG. And it hasn’t been just the Mets’ rotation that has seemingly run out of gas in this series.

But there has been a surge in actively managed ETFs as investors seek lower costs and more precision, experts say. Active ETFs represented just more than 2% of the U.S. ETF market at the beginning of 2019. There are a few reasons for the active ETF growth, experts say. Still, only a fraction of issuers have been successful in the active ETF market. Active ETFs allow 'tactical adjustments'While passive ETFs replicate an index, such as the S&P 500 , active managers aim to outperform a specific benchmark.

In 1997, Walter Johnson stood before Judge Frederic Block in a Brooklyn federal courtroom after being convicted of robbery, cocaine possession and witness tampering, just the latest in a troubling series of crimes that involved guns, drugs and violence. Judge Block called Mr. Johnson, a street legend known as King Tut, “a classic example of a person who has to be incapacitated so society is protected against you.” Then he hit Mr. Johnson with five life sentences. On Thursday, Judge Block called the punishment he imposed 27 years ago too harsh, the product of ill-considered laws and his own inexperience. He freed Mr. Johnson, who hours later walked out of prison and back into society. “Judges gain insights that with the passage of time only can come with experience on the bench and their judicial maturation,” Judge Block wrote in his decision granting Mr. Johnson’s petition for release.

The latter appeared to hint at the Germany's waning influence over regional policy — a likely unthinkable notion only a few years ago. I'm a Gen X child from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since that first move, I've lived in Alabama, Virginia, and Texas and returned to the Bay Area. People moved in and out of the Bay Area a lot, so it was hard to make lasting social connections.

CNN —Voters in Moldova will cast their ballots Sunday in two crucial votes, which have been billed as the most consequential in the country’s post-Soviet history. Alongside a more sophisticated misinformation campaign, Shor has resorted to cruder methods to meddle with Moldovan politics. Home to a Romanian-speaking majority and large Russian-speaking minority, many Moldovans had long viewed Russia as a benign big brother. “It reflects the loss of the national allure of Russia in Moldovan society,” he said. “There’s limits (to what can be achieved).”But even if Sandu prevails in both the presidential vote and the EU referendum, he expects the Kremlin’s campaign to continue.

Havana CNN —Cuba’s electrical grid shut down on Friday, putting the country into a blackout after the failure of one of the island’s major power plants, according to its energy ministry. In a statement on X, the ministry said “the failure” of the Antonio Guiteras Power Plant caused “the total disconnection of the National Electrical System” from 11 a.m. This week, Cuba’s increasingly energy-strapped government called for draconian measures to save power, including telling many workers to stay home. Millions of people on the communist-run island have been left without power over the last several days as the aging Cuban electrical grid repeatedly collapsed. The Cuban Electric Union has also reported that 37 power generation plants are out of service due to lack of fuel.
