CNN —The confrontation in Atlanta between Joe Biden and Donald Trump Thursday night has a good chance of becoming the most fateful presidential debate in US history. The momentous nature of this debate can only be fully understood against the backdrop of the unprecedented politics of the times. But the tension surrounding this year’s first debate in June, rather than in September or October as usual, is palpable. “The closer the election, the greater the chance that a debate could influence it,” said Aaron Kall, director of debate at the University of Michigan, who has conducted an in-depth study of every presidential debate. Biden has raised the stakes for himself heading into the debate higher than those any modern president faced.

“The president has gotten increasingly punchier in recent remarks about Trump and plans to carry that theme through to the debate,” one Biden campaign official said. (CNN debate rules stipulate that each candidate will have a pen, writing pad and a bottle of water at the podium.) Biden’s former chief of staff, Ron Klain, is taking the lead to help the president get ready to debate Trump, a Biden campaign official told CNN. In the last cycle, Biden aides were particularly sensitive to Trump attacking members of Biden’s family on the debate stage. But that doesn’t mean Trump shouldn’t, or isn’t preparing,” said a person close to Trump, who requested anonymity to speak candidly.

Within that sphere we’re treated to a voice performance by Woods that is a small, hilarious, somewhat dismaying tour de force. Lauren doesn’t bother to keep a lid on his simmering contempt, he just recodes it as a stream of virtue-signaling cant. But on balance their subplots are just a distraction from the endless permutations of Lauren’s perpetual ego trip. The 13-year-old company has introduced a free service called DocDefender that can scrub a physician's personal contact information from the internet. The technology scans dozens of the most common websites where a doctor's information might reside and automatically initiates the removal process. Two months after the workshopping event, Doximity conducted a survey of more than 2,000 doctors and found that 85% of them worry about whether patients will access their personal information online. The service will be available to all doctors on Doximity starting Wednesday, and will expand to nurse practitioners and others over time. 'Opportunity to think very long term' In addition to reaching more than 80% of U.S. doctors, Doximity says it's also used by 50% of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

August started a campaign to reimburse customers for some taxes on period products. She's also fighting the so-called tampon tax, which refers to the sales tax added to tampons, pads, and menstrual-care products when they're classified as luxury, nonessential items. That's why we've always covered the tampon tax when customers bought their products directly from August. But when we launched in Target in March, we suddenly had no ability to get rid of the tampon tax at the point of purchase, because the sale wasn't going through us. We hustled behind the scenes to find a way we could take a material stance against the tampon tax.

Some Democratic lawmakers have begun posting on "Bluesky," the latest alternative to Twitter. And for the Democratic lawmakers who use the platform, it's a place that feels safer and more gentle than Twitter. "The invite tree accountability makes people more judicious about bringing in solid people," wrote Ocasio-Cortez in a "skeet" this week. But I've [posted] triple digits in less than a week [on Bluesky]," she wrote in an earlier post. In a "skeet" on Bluesky, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez declares the platform to be "safer and more fun" than Twitter.

A new Trump press release called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis "Rob." Ron DeSantis as "Rob" in a Wednesday press release. "ICYMI: 'Steve Bannon calls Rob DeSantis a 'weasel' and Mike Lindell brands him 'disgusting' for his response to Trump's looming indictment..." the press release said. He frequently calls DeSantis "Ron DeSanctimonious," and according to Bloomberg, he's also been workshopping other nicknames including "Tiny D," "Ron DisHonest," and "Ron DeEstablishment."
DeSantis says he "doesn't know how to spell" Trump's nickname for him, Ron DeSanctimonious. "I don't really know what it means," DeSantis told Piers Morgan. Ron DeSantis said he doesn't really know what former President Donald Trump's nickname for him, "Ron DeSanctimonious," means. "I don't really know what it means, but I kinda like it, it's long, it's got a lot of vowels. "I mean you can call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner," DeSantis told Morgan.
In fact, some said that's exactly what the party needs to produce a winning presidential candidate the next time around. "Heck, I hope 10 or 15 people run," Tuberville told Insider at the US Capitol, urging other White House hopefuls to "put out what you need to, go raise money, and put your best foot forward." When asked how DeSantis might hit back at the scandal-plagued former president, Rubio said that's for 2024 contenders to figure out. A follow-up question about his possibly entering the race compelled Rubio to say that he was not running for president. "There's an old statement, 'What Peter says about Paul tells you more about Peter than it does about Paul," he told Insider in the Senate subway tunnels.
Donald Trump is privately workshopping some fresh nicknames for Ron DeSantis, Bloomberg reports. Trump denied a report from The New York Times that he wanted to call DeSantis "Meatball Ron." A brewing fight over socially conscious investing appears to be a preview of 2024 attack lines. The GOP's ongoing battle against environmental, social and corporate governance issues seems to be picking up steam ahead of the next presidential election, with Senate Republicans unanimously opposed to government involvement in personal investments. "If there's some other social goals, that'd be run through government, not through investing," Johnson told Insider between Senate votes. Sen. Steve Daines of Montana, who is running Senate Republicans' reelection arm for the 2024 cycle, declined to comment on whether an anti-ESG plank would be part of that campaign. "Stay focused on investors and shareholders, not on stakeholders," Daines told Insider before being whisked away by the Senate subway.
But the former president just can't stop himself from writing Truth Social posts about DeSantis. Trump wrote. The Truth Social spree came after Trump tried to appear unbothered by DeSantis. On February 13, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he doesn't spend much time thinking about his rival at all, as Insider's Kimberly Leonard reported. It's clear Trump sees DeSantis as a real threatDonald Trump and Ron DeSantis.
Trump denied a New York Times report that he is testing out nicknames for DeSantis. He has privately been calling the Florida governor "Meatball Ron," the report said. Trump wrote on Truth Social. Ron DeSantis and asking his team for damning material. Trump wrote sarcastically on Truth Social.
Olivia Melendez graduated from Harvard Business School in May and is a product manager at Google. Plus, I had always heard that MBA programs prefer that candidates have three to four years of work experience before starting a full-time program," Melendez said. In addition to HBS, she applied to several other top-tier programs, including the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton Business School, and Kellogg School of Management, all of which she was admitted to. Melendez said she used the admissions essay as a chance to tie together pieces of her background that needed additional context. For anyone struggling with the admission essay, Melendez recommended an exercise she learned at MLT.

Footage from the video passes off stock images of Ukraine and Russia as the US, HuffPost reported. In a letter to House members, Minority Leader McCarthy also used a quote wrongly attributed to Lincoln, Daily Beast reported. Several images were created by Serg Grbanoff, a filmmaker based in Russia, HuffPost reported, who confirmed to the outlet the images were created in the Volgograd region of his home country. "Interesting how you guys aren't remotely interested on the issues facing the American people in the video," McCarthy spokesman Mark Bednar told HuffPost when asked about the stock footage. "Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality," the letter reads, attributing the quote to the nation's 16th president.
