CNN —A stained-glass Tiffany window originally designed for an Ohio church has sold for $12.48 million at auction. This is the first time the window has come to auction in 24 years and the sale sets a new auction record for Tiffany Studios. It sold for $2 million back in 2000, which was a world record for a Tiffany window at that time. That was the “thematic precursor” for the Danner Memorial Window 10 years later, Sotheby’s said in a press statement. The museum acquired Garden Landscape, designed in 1912, a three-part window designed by Northrop, last year.

CNN —Abdul “Duke” Fakir, a founding member of the Motown group the Four Tops, has died, according to his family. Born in Detroit, Fakir developed a love of music as a teen while performing with his local church and school choirs, according to a 2012 interview with NPR. In 1954, they formed the first iteration of their band in Detroit called the Four Aims, according to a Motown Museum biography of the group. “[O]nce we started singing, our whole perspective of life changed,” Fakir said in a 2022 interview with The Detroit News. The 27-track compendium contains country music, to be sure, but also folk, gospel, rap, pop and even some Italian opera – and it celebrates Bey’s desire to span beyond any labels or limits. (She even spelled it out in a rare caption on her Instagram ahead of the album drop, writing that “Carter” “ain’t a Country album. The revived and revamped Scout Motors will introduce its new brand of all-electric off-road-capable SUVs, kind of like Rivian. Buzz, an electric update of the classic hippie bus, VW is touching on nostalgia to reach a new generation of car buyers. VW came to own the trademark for the defunct brand in 2021 when it purchased Navistar, a successor company to International Harvester.
