They deemed business class more lucrative for long-haul flights. While these carriers still have business class, true first class remains a money-maker despite taking up the least amount of cabin real estate. Air France, Swiss International Air Lines, and Lufthansa are also in the mix, among others. "Air France is committed to having this super premium first-class product because it's Air France," Funk said. CNN —In travel news this week: odd room service requests, the cruise passengers stranded for months at their departure port, plus how a rogue bag of Cheetos caused havoc in a New Mexico cave. Unusual guest requestsFar be it from us to say folks are getting a little entitled, but a new report from Hotels.com has revealed the oddest room service requests made to its hotel partners around the world. There’s the separate requests that were fielded for burnt toast, fresh goat milk and 2 kilos of bananas. And finally there’s the demand for a high-five from a team member to ensure their room service request was read. The nine-month itinerary of Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise was considerably less ambitious, but at least it successfully completed its journey this week.

It is hard to believe that it has only been about a year since travelers started dabbling in ChatGPT-created itineraries. is like a teenage intern,” said Chad Burt, co-owner of the travel adviser network Outside Agents, “better, smarter, faster than you, but you need to lead them.”The expanding use of A.I. could influence how we book online, what happens when flights are canceled or delayed, and even how much we pay for tickets. For example, it could improve automatic rebooking onto new flights when customers miss connections or weather snarls runways. At United Airlines, for example, smarter software can offer rebooking options and issue food and lodging vouchers when a flight is canceled, rather than just rebooking a flight.

A military decree shared on social media ordering a Ukrainian unit to cremate the bodies of its deceased soldiers is a fake, spokespeople for the military brigade and Ukraine’s department for strategic communications told Reuters. It orders the A7052 unit to “organise a mobile crematorium” with enough fuel for five days, as well as gathering a stockpile of burial urns. A representative of the A7052 unit told Reuters that no such document or order had been issued. The number on the stamp is 07849800, but the EDRPOU number for unit A7052 is 26623365, as seen on public records of procurement tenders: here . Ukrainian authorities say the document, which uses the wrong identifying code of the military unit, is fake.

A clip falsely attributed to Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar and implying that 400,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died in the war against Russia is circulating in multiple languages, but there is no evidence that the company ever released such a video. Users have been sharing the video, which mimics the Youtube Shorts display as well as Kyivstar branding and claims to be the mobile operator’s charity campaign (here). “There was no such communication from Kyivstar, this information is fake,” the mobile operator said in response to a direct message in Instagram from Reuters. There is no evidence mobile operator Kyivstar released a video that mentions 400,000 deceased Ukrainian soldiers, and the company has called the clip a fake. A social media video with BBC branding that says Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin is alive, having staged his death with Russian authorities, is a fake, a spokesperson for the broadcaster told Reuters. The private Embraer jet on which Prigozhin was travelling crashed on Aug. 23, killing all 10 people aboard (here). On Aug. 29, a minute-long clip mimicking a BBC News report circulated on social media and claimed the mercenary chief was still alive. Captions superimposed on footage of the crash site and a picture of Prigozhin say: “BBC source denies information about the death of the owner of PMC Wagner. In a statement sent to Reuters via email, a BBC spokesperson said: “We are aware of this fake video and our lawyers are urgently looking into it.

The Prigozhin-linked jet crashed Aug. 23 in an area north of Moscow and killed all 10 people on board, including the Wagner boss and the group’s commander Dmitry Utkin, according to Russian authorities. The Facebook and Twitter posts were written in English, while the TikTok posts were spotted in Ukrainian and Russian. But Reuters traced the video to June 24, 2023, when it was shared online in relation to a plane crash in Russia’s Voronezh region during the aborted Wagner mutiny (t.me/c/1732054517/20231, t.me/c/1732054517/20231 and here ). Russian media outlet Fontanka said the video captured the crash of an IL-22 near Kantemirovka (here). The video can be traced back to at least June 2023, thus predating the Aug. 23 crash.

A photograph captioned as showing seven Russian soldiers captured by Ukrainians near the village of Neskuchne in the Donetsk region in 2023 in fact dates from least September 2022, when it was released by the Ukrainian military. A June 11, 2023 tweet with nearly 9,000 “likes” shared the photo showing seven captive soldiers sitting on the ground while another soldier stands over them with the caption: “7 Russian soldiers were captured by Ukrainians near the village of Neskuchne, #Donetsk region” (here). Video of water being released at the intact Nova Kakhovka dam in Kherson, Ukraine, in April 2023 does not show a release of water following the June 6 breach of the dam, as claimed in social media posts. The clip, however, dates to April this year when several parts of Ukraine experienced flooding (here). Suspilne, a public broadcasting network in Ukraine, shared the video as part of a news segment uploaded to YouTube on Apr. The video appears to have first emerged online on the Telegram channel “This is Zaporozhye UA News” (t.me/eto_zp) on Apr. The clip of floodwaters released from the Nova Kakhovka dam is from April and is not proof that Ukraine has been releasing water from the dam in Kherson even after its recent collapse.

LONDON, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Seeking to restore vigour to a business that's been languishing, Credit Suisse (CSGN.S) says it will reshape its investment bank by resurrecting the First Boston brand. Still, Credit Suisse says it expects CS First Boston to generate 14% of total group revenue by 2025, starting with annual sales of about $2.5 billion. Credit Suisse has been plagued by an exodus of senior bankers over the past 18 months. Yet most trading activities will remain within Credit Suisse, raising questions on CSFB's ability to compete with the likes of Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan (JPM.N). Credit Suisse is hoping to eventually pursue an initial public offering of CSFB, Körner told analysts.
