Parris Goebel Is Changing the Way Women Move Her surreal, muscular dances for Rihanna, SZA and other pop stars have made her one of the world’s most in-demand choreographers. As the music gathered momentum, the camera raced through the crowd of scowling dancers until, finally, Rihanna appeared. The choreographer behind this viral performance, 32-year-old Parris Goebel, has established herself as one of the music industry’s most innovative and in-demand artists. There’s something cathartic about watching a group of (mostly) women snarling in lock step, an image of power and indomitability. Rihanna’s representative confirmed that Rihanna and Goebel were shooting something at the palace, though the project is still under wraps.

But she warned that things could get more chaotic for Democrats if Biden were to make the extraordinary move to end his campaign just weeks before the Democratic convention. In a twist for the left-leaning Ocasio-Cortez, her comments make her among the more forceful pro-Biden voices in the party right now. Many progressives, including Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., are primarily driven by policy goals and know they have Biden's ear. The strategist said part of the reason progressives like Ocasio-Cortez are backing Biden is the "bird in hand phenomenon" — there's a "comfort level" with Biden in the White House. Ocasio-Cortez also cautioned followers that Biden has unique electoral strengths that other Democrats cannot expect to replicate.

He woke as if Elon Musk himself had grabbed him by the shoulders. Mr. Musk spent $44 billion of mostly other people’s money to buy Twitter, rebrand it to X and guarantee that he could continue to irritate people on a global scale. For Mr. Rangel, what was figurative for others had become literal: When a tycoon stomps, the earth shakes. Mr. Musk’s company SpaceX had launched a new iteration of its Starship rocket about 25 miles away. But Mr. Rangel still couldn’t go back to sleep.

Though one of the most potent and long-running (or at least long-stomping) forces in movies, Godzilla has never before rubbed elbows at the Academy Awards. At the Oscar luncheon, Steven Spielberg warmly greeted Yamazaki and told him he had seen “Godzilla Minus One” three times. But “Godzilla Minus One” returns to the essential nature of Godzilla as a sober symbol of nuclear holocaust and atomic trauma. My intent was to put a spotlight on what Godzilla represented.”In “Godzilla Minus One,” just as WWII is ending, Godzilla is growing. But unlike more broadly blockbuster-styled Godzilla films, “Godzilla Minus One” is rigorously rooted in a Japanese perspective.

“But Here We Are” has a back-to-basics immediacy and intensity that was missing from the last few Foo Fighters albums. (As a companion piece, they also released a cheeky collection of Bee Gees covers.) The undercurrent holding all of “But Here We Are” together is not an idea so much as raw emotion. Grohl’s melodies are as soaring and anthemic as they’ve sounded in years; his vocals are freshly impassioned and heartfelt. The towering title track layers intricate guitar work atop skittering percussion before a chorus comes along and sweeps everything into a tidal wave of sound.

The U.S. House’s Jan. 6 committee has performed its task with a dignity that verges on parody. They are doing criminal referrals while Rome burns. I think the criminal referrals are completely appropriate and, if anything, fail to capture the true scope of his malfeasance. He said as much himself in response to the Jan. 6 committee referral. One of the strongest grounds for prosecuting Trump for Jan. 6 is that only accountability will prevent something like it from happening again.
Before COVID, my wife made a comfortable salary but was unhappy, while I was happy freelancing. My wife got pregnant with our son and became a full-time parent, and it's been great for us. Our son is six months old and my wife stays home with him while I work in his bedroom. It is how queer people have always had to live — making things up as we go and trying to disrupt social expectations. We don't have a lot of money but we are happy with the life we have created for him.
