Here’s the latest:• Gas stations still waiting for fuel: Just under 30% of the state’s gas stations have no fuel as of early Sunday, according to the monitoring website GasBuddy.com. In the hard-hit Tampa-St. Petersburg area, more than three quarters of stations, 77%, are out of gas. Some people told CNN they’ve had to use word of mouth to find out which stations have gas. Paula Cast told CNN her family visited four or five different gas stations Friday, but everything was closed. Then on Saturday, they got a call from one of their friends saying a Wawa station had gas.

Thousands more came later that week from countries all over the world, challenging the town’s ability to handle them. The following spring, Texas opened a new frontier of its own. Turkey takes a hitThis year, turkey prices were low ahead of Thanksgiving — partially because turkey farmers expected an outbreak in the spring that didn’t really happen, boosting turkey supplies, explained Matt Busardo, poultry market reporter at Urner Barry. But the uptick of bird flu cases has hit turkey farms hard, and threatens to tighten supply in groceries this spring. In part that’s because unlike eggs, turkey isn’t a kitchen staple — meaning that higher prices could just lead people to skip that turkey sandwich after all.

In addition, the state plans to focus on developing its cybersecurity workforce and educating New York residents and companies about cybersecurity. In March, the White House published the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which touches on several of the themes in New York’s own document. Utah is likely to become the first state to ban gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors this year. The Utah Senate approved a bill Friday that would bar minors from receiving gender-affirming surgeries and place an indefinite moratorium on their access to puberty blockers and hormone therapy. Spencer Cox, who became the second Republican governor last year to veto a bill that bars transgender students from playing girls’ sports. Bri Martin, the editor of the student newspaper at West High School, described gender-affirming care as “nothing short of life-saving,” the Salt Lake Tribune reported. The bill also allows minors to sue medical providers for malpractice for gender-affirming medical care if the minor “later disaffirms consent” before they turn 25.
