A Florida man arrested on suspicion of weapons violations on Halloween had a list of targets that included a congressman and locations he associated with Jewish and Black people, prosecutors allege. The Federal Public Defender of South Florida did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A customary walk-through of the home turned up evidence of firearms, including spent shell casings and a homemade target, Anton said. The alleged list of targets includes Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., as well as locations the writer of the list characterized as draws for Jewish and Black people — a synagogue, a Jewish cemetery, a Jewish sandwich shop and parks and schools that were described using a derogatory term for Black people, according to Anton's filing. One entry on the list said, "Stalk Jewish parks," the proffer said.

Goudreau, 48, and a co-conspirator, Yacsy Alexandra Alvarez, of exporting military-style rifles, night vision devices, lasers, silencers and other military equipment without a license to Colombia beginning in November 2019 for use in carrying out “activities in Venezuela,” the Justice Department said in a news release on Wednesday. The charges appear to refer to the botched cross-border raid carried out in May 2020 by dozens of armed, self-declared freedom fighters, including former Venezuelan soldiers and former American Special Forces operators, who aimed to topple Mr. Maduro. Mr. Goudreau, of Melbourne, Fla., who did not participate in the raid, publicly took credit for the failed incursion known as Operation Gideon, which he said he had planned with disaffected Venezuelan officials. The audacious rebellion left observers around the world wondering why a decorated former U.S. Special Forces soldier who had served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan was leading a foreign insurrection.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian investigators in part of eastern Ukraine controlled by Moscow said late on Monday that they had detained two soldiers on suspicion of killing a family of nine people, including two children. The statement said the soldiers were from a region in Russia's far east and that the reason for the murders appeared to be some kind of personal conflict. The killings took place in Volnovakha, an industrial town between Donetsk and Melitopol. Russian media reported that the murderers had used machine guns with silencers to kill the family at night. Ukraine's prosecutor's office said in a statement that it had also begun investigating the crime.

A Florida man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his missing ex-wife, after human remains were found in a burn pile on his property, according to court documents. Ian Christopher Baunach, 43, was charged Monday in Hendry County, Florida, in connection with the death of Katie Samantha Baunach, who was last seen Sept. 29, the Hendry County Sheriff's Office said. Katie Baunach. After failing to make contact with Ian Baunach, officers later returned and found her car had been moved from the driveway onto the street.
