Donald Trump's legal team filed for immediate dismissal of his New York hush-money case on Wednesday, arguing that he cannot be sentenced while either president-elect or president. "On November 5, 2024, the Nation's People issued a mandate that supersedes the political motivations of DANY's 'People,'" the defense filing concludes, using the acronym for the District Attorney of New York. In today's big story, we're looking at how new AI tools are helping workers bluff their way through interviews . Some people have built homemade AI tools to help interviewees, releasing them online for free. A startup developing AI-powered tools for job seekers, Final Round AI offers an AI résumé builder, a cover letter writing service, and a mock interview tool. He's not the only one looking to AI to change the interview process. Others say banning AI chatbots in interviews is like prohibiting calculators during math tests — if workers can use the tech in their jobs, why not in the interview process, too?

The question for some of us is, why some people want to keep working decades beyond retirement age? CNN Opinion editor Stephanie Griffith asked seven people who are past the conventional retirement age why they are still at the job and got as many responses as there were respondents. They continue to work happily and productively, and were happy to explain to us how and why they do it. Over the years I’ve had to adapt frequently to the changing technology, which isn’t always easy for someone my age. That may be the secret of working well past the time society tells us we’re supposed to retire.

About one-third of hiring managers in a survey admitted bias against Gen Zers or older candidates. That's because, according to a survey from Resume Builder, 36% of hiring managers said they were biased against Gen Z candidates. So why are some hiring managers not down with younger or older workers? Among the hiring managers who admitted to bias against Gen Z job seekers, more than three-quarters cited younger workers' lack of experience. When Brock Forsblom and Jeremy Heimans first saw their future apartment, “it was the SoHo loft fantasy,” says Heimans, 46, an Australian entrepreneur and nonfiction writer. The rest of the former factory building, which was constructed in 1900 and at one time produced long underwear, is still inhabited by “septuagenarian artists,” Heimans says. In the pair’s previous apartment, a West Village rental, almost every surface, including the curtains and bathroom ceiling, was decorated with a vibrant pattern. “The energy there was that I had a thousand ideas,” says Forsblom, 38, who until recently worked as an interior designer. Ng brought in his colleague Jacob Esocoff as a collaborator — eventually resulting in the launch of their own firm, Ideas of Order, in late 2021.

Such is life when you transcend the role of designer and become more like a divining rod that indicates which way the cultural water is flowing. CNN —It’s already a vital American truth that Dolly Parton is a national treasure, and has been for decades. Cover of "Rockstar" by Dolly Parton. LONDON (AP) — At an age when many of his contemporaries have long since retired, King Charles III is not one to put his feet up. The king will mark his 75th birthday on Tuesday by busily highlighting causes close to his heart. With Queen Camilla at his side, Charles will visit a project that helps feed those in need by redistributing food that might otherwise go to landfills. As Prince of Wales, the future king founded a charity that helps young people get jobs and training. Although Diana’s fans initially bridled at the idea of Camilla ever becoming queen, by the time the invitations for the coronation went out Charles had made his wishes clear: “The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.’’
