Aqaba, Jordan CNN —The United States has had direct contact with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the Syrian rebel group now in de-facto control of the country, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Saturday. “Yes, we’ve been in contact with HTS and the other parties,” Blinken said at a news conference in Aqaba, Jordan. Blinken did not give details on when the contact was made or at what level. “This is a moment of vulnerability in which ISIS will seek to regroup, taking the advantage of transition in Syria,” Blinken said Saturday, reemphasizing the importance of the SDF. The US, however, has not condemned the move, with Blinken saying that they are talking with the Israeli government.

New York CNN —Customers on social media have been furious with Chipotle for allegedly skimping on its burrito bowl portions this year. “First, there was never a directive to provide less to our customers,” CEO Brian Niccol said during an earnings call Wednesday. In June, a Wells Fargo analyst ordered and weighed 75 Chipotle burrito bowls with white rice, black beans, chicken, pico de gallo, cheese and lettuce across eight Chipotle locations in New York City. The bowls weighed roughly the same for in-store orders and online orders, but some locations served bowls that weighed 33% more than other locations. Some burrito bowls went to extremes, with one topping out at 27 ounces in one location, and a meager 14 ounces in another.

The unsubstantiated, misleading misogyny of former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s tirade about the harm plastic surgery does to women. Throughout her segment on Moriarty, Kelly latched onto what might, in other hands, under other circumstances, have been sympathetic and important themes. She flagged mental health, the pressures put on women by social media and the beauty industry and the struggle to remain authentic in an increasingly “fake,” AI-dominated world. Moriarty said she would be taking “an extensive if not permanent break” from social media and in her words, she experienced “one of the most challenging weeks” of her life. So much for Kelly’s concerns about her mental health.

Goldman CEO David Solomon is famously anti-remote work, and has been pushing RTO for over a year. Certain managers have responded by reemphasizing the company's policy that all employees work from the office five days a week. Though he reluctantly yielded on the issue for a while after facing pushback from his top advisors, he made his disdain for remote work public. "This is not ideal for us, and it's not a new normal," Solomon later said at a conference in February 2021 regarding remote work, Bloomberg reported. AdvertisementAdvertisementAs of last October, 65% of the company's workers had already returned to the office full time, according to Solomon.

WASHINGTON, March 14 (Reuters) - The White House on Tuesday welcomed the "landmark" deal between Saudi Arabia and the Boeing Co (BA.N), saying it will support U.S. jobs and marked a milestone in cooperation between Saudi Arabia and American industry. Boeing Chief Executive Dave Calhoun said in an interview the planemaker got "support from the Biden administration and from key members of Congress every step of the way... The Biden Administration has done a terrific job in moving the ball forward and was instrumental in landing this purchase." A U.S. official said the Saudi contract was a "white whale" for Boeing, something the planemaker pursued for several years. Senior U.S. officials have been in regular engagement with the Saudis over the deal, but Biden did not have any direct talks with Saudi leaders.

In a recent note, Williams Trading analyst Sam Poser said Hey Dude could hit $1 billion in fiscal year 2022 sales. Poser recently met with the management of Crocs, which bought Hey Dude this year. "This quarter, we spent a lot of time with Mary Dillon and her team at Foot Locker," Donahoe added.

U.S. President Joe Biden attends a meeting of the Reproductive Healthcare Access Task Force in the State Dining Room at the White House in Washington, U.S., October 4, 2022. REUTERS/Elizabeth Frantz/File PhotoWASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Reuters) - The White House rolled out a long-delayed national security strategy on Wednesday that seeks to contain China's rise while reemphasizing the importance of working with allies to tackle challenges confronting democratic nations. The 48-page document, which was delayed by the Ukraine crisis, includes no major shifts in thinking and introduces no major new doctrines for Biden's foreign policy. Even after the Russian invasion, China represents the most consequential challenge to the global order, it states. Sullivan said the Ukraine crisis did delay but did not "fundamentally alter" Biden's approach to foreign policy.
