A Maryland man recently made a remarkable discovery in the Chesapeake Bay: An almost-whole human skeleton that appears to be at least a century old. NBC Washington reported George Oliver, who lives in Calvert County, was walking the shores of the bay on Nov. 4, looking for fossils, as he usually does. Oliver told the station that he could see the coffin, but that it was completely submerged in water. "When I first found it, you could not tell that there was human remains," Oliver told NBC Washington. When he found the coffin, Oliver assumed that leg bone might have been a part of the newly-discovered skeleton.

WASHINGTON — The House Oversight Committee announced Thursday that Republicans plan to create a subcommittee that would work with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on President-elect Donald Trump's recently announced advisory group, the "Department of Government Efficiency." A banana duct-taped to a white wall — or an acclaimed piece of art, depending how you look at it — sold at a Sotheby's auction for $6.24 million on Wednesday. Postal Service announced Friday that one of its 2025 Forever Stamp offerings will include an illustration of White. The collection has honored a man one year and a woman the next, according to the Postal Service.
