Over time, holding pee in too often can strain, and thus weaken, your bladder muscles, which then cannot generate enough force to empty the urine, experts said. In more extreme cases, experts said, holding pee can cause urine to back up into the kidneys, which can lead to infections, kidney damage or hydronephrosis. For the average healthy person, however, holding your pee for up to a few hours a few times a week isn’t likely to cause harm, experts said. Those with neurogenic bladder or kidney disorders are also at greater risk of harm from holding their pee. If you’re holding your pee because you’ve noticed you’re running to the toilet unusually often, that could be a sign of overactive bladder syndrome, diabetes or a UTI, experts said.

Federal prosecutors are asking U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta to sentence Roberto Minuta and Edward Vallejo to 17 years in prison each after they were convicted in January alongside two other Oath Keepers members. If the judge follows that recommendation, those would be the second-longest sentences for any of the 1,000-plus people charged in the Capitol attack that was intended to block Congress from certifying Democrat Joe Biden's November 2020 election victory over the Republican Trump. Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, convicted in November of seditious conspiracy and other charges, was sentenced by Mehta last week to 18 years in prison, the longest of any of the sentences. Prosecutors said he stayed at a suburban Virginia hotel where the Oath Keepers had staged a "quick reaction force" and stashed firearms to be quickly ferried into Washington if needed. A passenger on an American Airlines flight from New York to Delhi flight is accused of urinating on a fellow passenger while inebriated. An American Airlines passenger urinated on another traveler midflight, according to local media reports. "American Airlines flight 292 with service from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport was met by local law enforcement upon arrival in DEL due to a disruption on board," an American Airlines spokesperson told Insider. At the beginning of March, a 21-year-old student reportedly urinated on another passenger who was asleep on an American Airlines flight from New York to Delhi. In January, Wells Fargo fired an employee who was accused of urinating on a fellow passenger while on Air India's New York to Delhi flight in November.
