According to LSEG data, global bond funds suffered disposals of $3.25 billion on a net basis, compared with $2.29 billion worth of net purchases in the week before. US equity funds see biggest weekly outflow in three months

According to LSEG data, U.S. equity funds suffered outflows of a net $11.69 billion, the biggest of any week since June 21. Equity value funds observed $4.37 billion worth of outflows, the most since December 2022. Meanwhile, growth funds witnessed about $1.95 billion worth of net outgo. U.S taxable bond funds witnessed $2.27 billion worth of net selling, while net withdrawal from municipal bond funds stood at $1.42 billion. Investors offloaded high-yield bond funds of a net $2.6 billion in their biggest weekly net disposal since Feb. 22.

The current National Pension Scheme requires employees to contribute 10% of their basic salary and the government 14%. But, "we will not go back to the old pension system," said one senior government official. This compromise, the government believes, will assuage the concerns of states that went back to the old pension system and cover the whole country with one fiscally sustainable pension scheme, both the sources said. March 3 (Reuters) - Global equity funds suffered their biggest weekly net selling in two months in the seven days to March 1 as global stocks fell after strong U.S. economic data stoked fears about further rises in interest rates. Data from Refinitiv Lipper showed global equity funds saw a net $13 billion worth of outflows in the week to March 1, the biggest amount since Jan. 4. Fund flows: Global equity sector fundsMeanwhile, global bond funds accumulated $6.83 billion worth of inflows, compared with just $1.46 billion worth of net purchase in the previous week. Government bond funds attracted $4.38 billion and corporate bond funds secured $3.56 billion with outflows from high-yield funds easing to a three-week low of $1.74 billion. Data for 23,732 emerging market funds showed equity funds drew an eighth weekly inflow, worth $1.56 billion, but bond funds remained out of favour for the third week with $924 million in outflows.

Jan 4 (Reuters) - Foreign investors withdrew more money from emerging Asian equities in 2022 than they had done in any year since the global financial crisis in 2008, as rising U.S. interest rates pulled funds towards dollar assets. Data from stock exchanges in Taiwan, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and South Korea showed foreigners sold equities worth $57 billion last year, the biggest outflow since 2008. Taiwanese equities faced outflows worth $41.6 billion last year, leading the regional sales, while India and South Korea witnessed an outgo of $15.4 billion and $9.6 billion, respectively. Yearly foreign investment flows: Asian equitiesHit by falling foreign demand and a worsening economic outlook, the MSCI's Asia Pacific index (.MIWD00000PUS) plunged 19.4% last year - the biggest fall since dropping 43.3% in 2008. On the flip side, India, Vietnam and Thailand received net inflows of $1.36 billion, $559 million and $372 million, respectively, in December.

MUMBAI, Dec 29 (Reuters) - India's current account deficit widened in the July-September quarter as high commodity prices and a weak rupee increased the country's trade gap, data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed on Thursday. In absolute terms, the current account deficit (CAD) (INCURA=ECI) was $36.40 billion in the second quarter of fiscal year 2022/23, its highest in more than a decade. The median forecast of 18 economists in a Dec. 5-14 Reuters poll was for a $35.5 billion CAD in the July-September quarter. The RBI said services exports reported growth of 30.2% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, driven by exports of software, business and travel services, while net services receipts increased sequentially and y-o-y. "Slowing global growth entails both merchandise as well as services exports will remain muted," she said.
Oct 14 (Reuters) - Global equity and bond funds faced outflows for the eighth time in a row in the week ended Oct. 12, Refinitiv Lipper data showed, undermined by worries over a recession as global interest rates surged further. According to the data, investors dumped $7.3 billion worth global equity funds and $14.27 billion worth bond funds. The equity outflows were focused on European equity funds, which witnessed net sales worth $7 billion, while U.S. equity funds had outflows of $2 billion.
