So when the couple learned about the FIRE movement in their mid-20s, it was music to their ears. They then tried to apply some of that information to their financial strategies. Over the past several years, the couple has grown their combined net worth to more than $800,000, according to documents viewed by BI. To make more money, Arsenault said they've "aggressively pushed for additional income." AdvertisementFor the leading voices in the uncommitted movement, that's missing the point — and it's insulting. The "Listen to Michigan" campaign was originally conceived in a memo drafted by Waleed Shahid, a progressive strategist and former spokesman for the left-wing group Justice Democrats. "There is an entire menu of things that President Biden could do to move in the direction of discontinuing the funding of the killing," he said. What uncommitted voters are ultimately looking for is a sense of seriousness and clarity that they feel has been lacking from Biden. Uncommitted movement organizers do not seem to be taking glee in embarrassing Biden.

In a statement marking the 100 days, the Palestinian ministry of foreign affairs accused Israel of creating "a circle of death" in Gaza. Yet that offers little comfort to the tens of thousands who have lost relatives to the bombardment. Israel's main enemy Iran, which backs Hamas, has taunted Israel but has so far refrained from direct action and Hezbollah, its proxy in Lebanon, has taken care to avoid an all-out confrontation. "We are continuing the war until the end - until total victory," he said on Saturday at a news conference to mark the 100 days of the war. The military also said its forces destroyed several rocket pits used by Hamas to fire missiles at Israel. We are seekers of freedom," he said, saying the attack was, in part, a response to the years-long Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, which Hamas has controlled since 2007. The military says, though, the next phase of the war will see more targeted operations against the movement's leaders and military positions. In Rafah in southern Gaza Strip, Nana, a 17-year-old high school student displaced from northern Gaza, said 100 days of war "turned our life upside down." COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The statewide battles over abortion rights since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a constitutional right to abortion have exposed another fault line: the commitment to democracy. "We spoke.”Gross told Jackson she wasn't ignoring voters but rather was reflecting opponents' concerns that Ohio voters were led astray. Anti-abortion lawmakers and advocates already have pushed back in a handful of states where voters sided generally with abortion rights. Republican state legislative leaders initially pledged that the fight to restrict abortion rights wasn't over after voters had spoken. Florida’s Republican attorney general is attempting to keep a proposed abortion rights amendment off the 2024 ballot.

Trump's loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 election did not end the spread of QAnon-influenced conspiracy theories or its unrealized prophecies. “In 2020, millions of people were radicalized on behalf of this conspiracy theory. Mexico's former Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who was a runner-up to Claudia Sheinbaum in the ruling National Regeneration Movement's (MORENA) presidential primary, holds a press conference in Mexico City, Mexico, September 11, 2023. Afterwards, he had held out the possibility of seeking the presidency with the center-left opposition Citizens' Movement (MC) party. However, this weekend MC closed its register of contenders for its presidential candidacy without Ebrard. He was also a key interlocutor for Mexico's negotiations over trade and immigration with then-U.S. President Donald Trump, and the succeeding Biden administration. That has helped polarize public opinion, and Ebrard urged MORENA to broaden its base and cultivate middle class support.

To defeat terrorist groups like Hamas, it is important to separate the terrorists from the local population from which they emerge. Right now, we are witnessing not the separation of Hamas and the local population, but the growing integration of the two, with likely growing recruitment for Hamas. The only viable way to separate Hamas from the local population is politically. This could, over time, separate Hamas from the local population more and more, and so lead to significant success. This new strategic conception is the best way to defeat Hamas, secure Israel’s population and advance America’s interests in the region.
