“We are a positive, inclusive brand, with a nice sensibility, very different from what they encountered in the past,” Fran Horowitz, now Abercrombie’s CEO, said in 2016. Today, Abercrombie’s stores are lighter than they once were and its clothes are looser. Abercrombie’s sales have grown and its stock has increased more than 400% since Jeffries stepped down as CEO. But retail analysts say that Abercrombie’s brand won’t be hurt by the indictment because of how much separation Abercrombie has been able to create from its former CEO. Older Abercrombie customers who remember the brand’s sexualized marketing have accepted Abercrombie’s rebrand, while a new generation of customers are too young to remember the old era.

☆ American Eagle sues Amazon over alleged 'knock-offs' of Aerie products

A shopper searching for Aerie products on Google will see sponsored and organic links to Amazon's website, the lawsuit says. Clicking on a link leads to an Amazon webpage that "displays only knock-offs and 'dupes'" of Aerie products, including sweatshirts and exercise shorts, American Eagle alleges. "These statements are patently false because customers cannot shop for Aerie products on Amazon." Many of the alleged Aerie knock-offs referenced in the lawsuit are sold by third-party sellers on Amazon's online marketplace. American Eagle is seeking an injunction and financial damages based on Amazon's alleged trademark infringement.

Alo Yoga founders Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge have hired investment bank Moelis (MC.N) to advise on options that include selling a stake in the company, the sources said. No transaction structure has been agreed, and it is possible that Alo Yoga decides against any deal, said the sources, who requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. Spokespeople for Alo Yoga and Moelis declined to comment. Alo Yoga is part of Harris and DeGeorge's company Color Image Apparel, which also includes their Bella+Canvas brand. CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday reviewed Lululemon 's Q2 earnings, and said he's pleased with the athletic apparel company's progress after seeing its stock plummet post-Covid. "I think it's not too late to get back into Lululemon if you bailed on it at some point over the past two years," Cramer said. Lululemon saw major success during the pandemic as many consumers purchased athleisure and loungewear while working from home. Inventory grew 14% in Q2, down from previous guidance of 20%, according to last week's conference call. "I bet Lulu has a terrific holiday season, especially now that their inventories are back at reasonable levels," Cramer said.
