In 2020, Meta’s program expanded and the company rolled out new features to address widespread misinformation around Covid and the 2020 election. Known as the Twitter Files, these series of posts on the platform alleged collusion between disinformation researchers, Twitter employees and government agencies, to censor conservatives.
