Generic drugs are the backbone of medicines prescribed in the U.S.: They account for about 90% of all prescriptions filled, according to the Association for Accessible Medicines, a trade group that represents generic drugmakers. The world’s largest coral has just been discovered in the southwest Pacific Ocean, scientists announced Wednesday. It’s three times larger than the previous record-breaker in American Samoa, according to Pristine Seas, and longer than a blue whale, the planet’s biggest animal. Finding ways to attract consumers to buy packaged goods stretches back to the 1920s when American psychologist Daniel Starch created the world's first market research study. Founded in Singapore in 2018, the startup provides AI-powered market research with real-time predictive analytics. Rival firms include ZoomInfo Sales, Trajaan and Brandwatch Consumer Intelligence, all of which deploy a variety of technology to comb through consumer data and marketing trends. Somsubhra Gan Choudhuri, co-founder and CEO Ai Palette, said AI can take up much of the brain power usually done by people. Along with VC investors, Ai Palette has had the backing of the Singapore government, which is committing more than three quarters of a billion Singaporean dollars ($7,500,000) to AI development to strengthen its AI ecosystem.

CNN —In the Australian city Geelong, just south of Melbourne, thousands are lining up for the rare chance to see – and smell – an unusual plant. It’s the so-called “corpse flower,” or Amorphophallus Titanum (often shortened to Titan Arum), named after the putrid stench it releases when it blooms to attract pollinators like beetles and flies. This plant was only gifted to Geelong Botanic Garden in 2021 from the State Herbarium in Adelaide, South Australia, and for years horticulturalists have been watching and waiting for signs of a nascent bud. So far, visitors have described the smell as similar to a dead mouse or a stinky pond, the city website said. The plant can live over 30 to 40 years – meaning it only blooms a handful of times in its entire lifetime.
