“Let’s get to work, man.”The debate, the first of two scheduled in the final weeks of the race, comes as mail-in balloting is underway in Michigan. Slotkin and Rogers are competing for the seat opening with the retirement of longtime Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow. “He was the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee in the run-up to the Iraq War,” Slotkin said of Rogers. “That information that was given to Congress was based on the CIA at the time that my opponent was in the CIA doing analytical work,” Rogers said. “I was here in Michigan, and I voted 'yes' on Proposition 3,” Slotkin added.

“(Chroming) can become addictive when it’s done over and over again.”Here’s what else you should know about the risks of chroming, signs of dependency and how to talk to young people about the practice. Chroming can also be fatal, and the amount and frequency necessary for that outcome to play out is unpredictable, experts said. Protecting kids from substance misusePreventing kids from chroming can be difficult since the items used are often household or hobby items. “The best way to approach chroming is to approach it like other dangers — an ongoing conversation over time,” Choi said. If you notice chroming is a recurring problem for your child, they may have a dependency they can’t easily stop despite your intervention, Pizon said.

I first learned of the Swype vape on social media, where a few doctored images of its screen had gone viral. AdvertisementNow, an obvious disclaimer: Business Insider does not endorse vaping or starting to vape simply because it seems like it would be funny to have a vape phone. (Samatha Cole of 404 Media also tried out the Swype vape; we didn't plan this. The touchscreen does display notifications when you swipe up — I could see messages from Signal, news push alerts, X notifications, and texts. This app seems designed not for the Swype vape but for some sort of wearable fitness tracker.

Increased cognitive function due to HIIT workouts was even seen in young adults, a February 2020 study showed, which researchers said indicated HIIT workouts may be both an efficient and effective way of combating cognitive decline as people age. “It always takes them by surprise.”Rowing machines are also a great choice for a high-intensity, low-impact workout, McCall said. “If you’re jumping up and down off a box, you’ll risk falling when you’re jumping back down. But don’t let that stop you from incorporating HIIT workouts into your weekly routine since they offer so many benefits, especially for older adults. “The biggest benefit we’re seeing now with HIIT workouts is the brain.”Sign up for CNN’s Fitness, But Better newsletter series.

When Google sneezes, the entire online advertising industry catches a cold. Google's announcement Tuesday that it would again delay its planned timeline for killing off third-party tracking cookies had long been anticipated by the digital advertising industry. Google has a 28% share of the online ad market, according to market research firm Emarketer (a sister company to BI). Regulators could step in to resolve the cookie chaosSome industry experts are hoping regulators will step in to untangle the mess. Amid the four years of confusion, chaos, and harumphing, there has been one consistent theme: When it comes to the future of online advertising, Google calls the shots.

So when Taft accused Truman — not long after his “special” train had stopped in Crestline — of going around the country on this campaign train tour “blackguarding (attacking) Congress at every whistle-stop,” Truman embraced the opportunity. Altogether, Segal has cataloged about 180 campaign train trips throughout U.S. history — from William Henry Harrison to Joe Biden, with dozens of presidents, vice presidents, first ladies, representatives, senators and governors in between. The project was inspired by Segal's personal experience organizing a whistle-stop campaign tour for Republican U.S. Rep. Mickey Edwards of Oklahoma, for whom he was serving as press secretary in 1984. Sometimes campaign trains were used in creative ways, too, as when comedian Gracie Allen pretended to run for president in 1940, as the nation was recovering from the Great Depression. In 1972, Winnie the Pooh launched a bid for the White House from Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A., then went on a two-week whistle-stop tour with his trusted advisers, Tigger and Eeyore.

Not if he’s beaten by a Republican who had to buy into his fictions or emulate his ugliness to claim the prize. Not if the Republican Party remains hostage to the extremism on display in the House over these past few months. That assessment isn’t Trump derangement syndrome. Cheney describes House Republicans’ enduring surrender to Trump as cowardly and cynical, and she’s cleareyed on what his nomination in 2024 would mean. That’s why the stakes of this election are titanic even without Trump on the ballot.

Trump shrugged "yes" through a crippling series of questions about bank docs he personally signed. But behind his many tantrums and tangents (mentions of George Washington and windmills among them), Trump suffered, legally speaking, on that witness stand. The bank loan documents all bore his signature, Trump confirmed, not that this could be disputed, given the characteristic Sharpie zigzags on the signatory pages. Yes, Trump answered again and again. Of course, Trump being Trump, there were tangents and tantrums mixed in.

Millionaires and CEOs alike tout the importance of being productive, organized and grinding 24/7 to build a successful career. While this might be true, there's a different skill that gives successful people a competitive edge in the workplace — being a good listener, says Sarah Sarkis, a psychologist and Exos' senior director of performance psychology. "Few people know how to be fully present in a conversation and respond thoughtfully to what another person is saying," Sarkis adds. But sometimes this very style of listening is why your conversations, your negotiations and your conflicts go sideways." Here, the performance psychologist offers three strategies for becoming a better listener at work:

Simon begins the album in his most casual tone. He’s thinking about time, love, culture, family, music, eternity and God, striving to balance skepticism and something like faith. “I have my reasons to doubt/A white light eases the pain,” Simon sings in “Your Forgiveness.” “Two billion heartbeats and out/Or does it all begin again?”Simon’s songwriting has never been particularly religious. Its refrains return to, and work variations on, the album’s opening song, “The Lord.” As in the psalms of the Bible — which, as Simon notes in “Sacred Harp,” were songs — Simon portrays the Lord in sweeping ways: wondrous and terrifying, both protector and destroyer, sometimes benign and sometimes wrathful. As his fingers sketch patterns, he latches onto melody phrases and then lets them go, teasing at pop structures but soon dissolving them.
What might get this stock market unstuck

Clearly the market is captive of strong, opposing and somewhat unpredictable currents, as the passengers argue over what might get stocks unstuck, and in which direction. Excluding financial stocks, for instance, the S & P 500 would be up 11% for the year. Here is the equal-weighted S & P 500 vs. the Nasdaq 100 since the end of 2021. The stock market has, coincidentally or not, carved a similar path so far this year as it did to begin 2011. The S & P 500 that year raced higher to print a 7% gain into a February high, then chopped sideways.
Mr. Carter had asked the authorities to leave, and they did, according to the police report obtained by the A.P. The following day, a housekeeper who heard Mr. Carter’s dogs barking and did not receive a response from him let herself into his home, according to the police report. She found Mr. Carter, wearing a T-shirt and necklace, submerged in the Jacuzzi-style bathtub with the jets running, and called 911, according to the report. The operator told the housekeeper to pull Mr. Carter out of the tub and perform CPR. Paramedics immediately declared him dead when they arrived, the police said.
Power, the speed of boarding has only a partial impact on passengers' satisfaction. "Most economy passengers like Southwest boarding process the best, because it seems more egalitarian," Taylor explained. "There's a high correlation between the people skills of an airline and how people like their boarding process," Taylor said. "It's the deadline pressure that reduces satisfaction," Taylor explained. Customer satisfaction, Taylor said, is rarely about how fast you can get something done.
"For years, everybody assumed that the health benefits of physical activity required at least 10 minutes," she said. Previous research from the University of Sydney has also found that vigorous physical activity is associated with lower rates of heart disease. A 2019 study also determined that stair climbing was associated with a lower risk of death among older men. Current U.S. guidelines say adults need 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, such as brisk walking, riding a bike or playing tennis. "There are just so many ways you can incorporate physical activity into a normal lifestyle," DiPietro said.
However, the breakthrough never came and Uruguay exits the World Cup at the group stage for the first time since 2002. No love lostMake no mistake, this fixture was one of the biggest grudge matches at the Qatar World Cup. Then, seemingly in the blink of an eye, it was 2-0 and Ghana’s World Cup hopes were once again evaporating against Uruguay. The Black Stars did at least begin the second half with more energy, as Osman Bukari flashed a shot across the goal inside the opening 60 seconds. Luis Suárez made himself a villain in Ghana for his role in their epic clash at the 2010 World Cup.

An ex-Twitter engineer said he left the company after being asked to help sell identifiable user data. Steve Krenzel predicted Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, "will do far worse things" with data. After presenting an alternative, Krenzel said the telco company "didn't like it and were frustrated," as was Twitter's sales team. At the time, Krenzel said Twitter was doing layoffs, and didn't have another engineer to do the work Krenzel and the rest of his team didn't want to do. Musk did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment ahead of publication asking whether he would ever sell access to identifiable user data.
