June 14 (Reuters) - Lennar Corp (LEN.N) on Wednesday raised its full-year forecast for home deliveries, as the homebuilder benefits from upbeat demand that far outpaced supply. Homebuilders are benefiting from the lack of existing home inventory and pent up demand they were unable to meet in previous years. The perennial shortage of homes on the market is frustrating would-be buyers eager to take advantage of dips in mortgage rates. The Miami-based homebuilder raised its total home deliveries forecast for 2023 to 68,000 to 70,000 homes, up from its prior guidance of between 62,000 and 66,000 homes. The company reported a second-quarter profit of $3.01 per share, above average analysts' estimate of $2.32 per share, according to Refinitiv data.

March 14 (Reuters) - Homebuilder Lennar Corp (LEN.N) on Tuesday reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit as high property prices helped offset supply shortages caused by rising material costs and a labor crunch. However, the industry is now staring at a slowdown as high interest rates have made borrowing more difficult for potential buyers. "Our sales volume and pricing have clearly been impacted by rising interest rates, but there remains a significant national shortage of housing, especially workforce housing, and there is still demand," Lennar Executive Chairman Stuart Miller said in a statement. Lennar reported net earnings per diluted share, excluding items, of $2.12 per share, above analysts' average estimate of $1.55 per share, according to Refinitiv data. Stocks look ready for a 'pause and pop' between when the Fed pauses rate hikes and starts cutting, CFRA said. CFRA said the Fed may make its final rate hike of this cycle at the upcoming February 1 meeting. "Historically, the FOMC has started a new rate-easing cycle an average of nine months after the last rate hike. The nine-month gap between a Fed pause in rate hikes and the first interest rate cut usually results in a gain for the S&P 1500 index, he said. Stovall said CFRA apparently not alone in thinking the Fed is on the verge of pausing rate hikes, outpointing the S&P 500's nearly 5% rise since the start of 2023.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday reminded investors that pain in the stock market is unfortunately necessary for the Federal Reserve to win against inflation. "Nobody wants to root for layoffs or lower stock prices. But the alternative is persistently high inflation — endless price increases for everything — and nobody wants that either," he said. Stocks fell on Thursday after fresh data indicated that the labor market remains strong, despite the Fed's aggressive interest rate hikes to tamp down rising prices. "If it doesn't show higher unemployment with no wage growth, the Fed will need to keep aggressively raising interest rates," Cramer said.
Lennar forecasts slowdown in orders for new homes, shares fall

Dec 14 (Reuters) - Homebuilder Lennar Corp (LEN.N) on Wednesday forecast a slowdown in new orders for the first quarter as high mortgage rates make properties unaffordable for some buyers. Lennar expects new orders in the current quarter to be between 12,000 and 13,500 homes, compared with new orders for 13,200 homes in the fourth quarter. However, the U.S. Federal Reserve's aggressive monetary policy tightening to curb decades-high inflation has made borrowing more difficult for customers as mortgage rates have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. Sales of previously owned homes fell for an eighth straight month in September, while homebuilding dropped, signaling that higher mortgage rates are choking the housing market. Net income attributable to Lennar rose to $1.32 billion, or $4.55 per share, in the fourth quarter, from $1.19 billion, or $3.91 per share, a year earlier.
