The stewards regarded this as a “complicated” case as both drivers were on slow laps, rather than pushing on qualifying laps. But the incident was clearly still on his mind after he had crossed the finish line, telling the media that he had “lost all respect” for Russell. “I think that’s the first time that in a slow lap someone has been penalized,” Verstappen said in the postrace press conference. All the chaos let Zhou Guanyu score his and Sauber’s first points of the season, crossing the line in P8. F1 heads to Abu Dhabi for the final race of the season this weekend.

Doha, Qatar CNN —For 12 seasons, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes penned one of the most fabled stories in the history of Formula One. Hamilton will embark on an intriguing chapter with Ferrari, while Mercedes will begin a new era spearheaded by George Russell. A superb showing in Las Vegas helped lift the mood on a frustrating year for Hamilton and Mercedes. It's an obstacle Grammy-winning actor, singer and songwriter Anthony Ramos faced during his time in the cast of the hit Broadway musical "Hamilton." Ramos was one of the show's original cast members, playing the dual roles of John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton. "Getting that first paycheck was great because I was getting paid to do something again, to do something I loved, but I was still struggling in New York," Ramos said. However, Ramos soon realized how expenses like taxes and manager and agent fees could quickly chip away at his earnings. "If you're an ensemble member, you're probably making $1,800 a week and then you get taxed on that," he said.

Doug Burgum, Trump's nominee for Secretary of the Interior and "energy czar," won praise from pro-housing advocates from both parties earlier this year when he made the case for denser, more walkable, mixed-use communities. Advertisement"He's been a champion of zoning reform and parking reform and transportation reform," Chuck Marohn, the founder of the urbanism nonprofit Strong Towns, told Business Insider. Doug Burgum — President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the US Department of Interior — reflects the growing bipartisanship around deregulating housing. At the same time, the housing shortage has begun to impact communities across the country rather than just large coastal metros. While Republicans use language about private property rights, free markets, and deregulation to make a case for YIMBY policies, Democrats talk about racial equity and environmental sustainability, Nolan Gray, research director for California YIMBY said.

LAS VEGAS — Max Verstappen is hoping that what happens in Vegas won't just stay in Vegas — it will go down in the history books. Verstappen, 27, of the Netherlands, can secure the trophy by finishing the 50-lap race ahead of his sole championship rival, Lando Norris. Norris needs to outscore Verstappen by at least 3 points to keep his title hopes alive, although they would be slim regardless. Shares of some aerospace and defense companies could fall under added pressure from President-elect Donald Trump's reduced government spending plans. Goldman is forecasting that the U.S. defense budget will soon flatten out and then decline, partly given that it's at an all-time high and that current geopolitical conflicts could potentially be met with a resolution. "Defense spending cycles up and down over time, and can be vulnerable to efforts to reduce total government spending." Poponak noted that although Trump has expressed broad support for the U.S. military and Department of Defense, any cost-cutting effort could still be a blow for the national defense budget. "Lower defense spending would flow to government IT to some degree.

KYIV, Ukraine — The Ukrainian capital was blanketed by darkness Monday, even as residents were bolstered by a sense that their American allies had — finally — seen the light. She also bemoaned the lengthy process and the continued limits on Ukraine's use of the long-range weapons, however. Soon, Trump’s ability to fix America’s affordability crisis will collide head-on with another, perhaps more prominent, campaign trail promise: Mass deportations. And perhaps no industry relies on undocumented workers more than the food and agriculture industries. “The only question is how high prices will go.”Zandi noted that food prices could also be pushed higher by another element of the Trump agenda: Massive tariffs. The Trump transition team did not respond to a request for comment about how mass deportations would impact food prices. The current immigration system does not allow for green cards for farm workers.

A coalition of parents attempting to block a state law that would require that the Ten Commandments be displayed in public school classrooms by next year have won a legal battle in federal court. The judge wrote that the law is "facially unconstitutional" and "in all applications," barring Louisiana from enforcing it and adopting rules around it that require all public K-12 schools and colleges to exhibit posters of the Ten Commandments. We've shown that in our briefs by creating a number of posters," Murrill told reporters. The displays included historical context for the commandments that the state believes makes its law constitutional.
