It's a tall order for one coffee machine to accomplish multiple brewing methods easily and well. The Spinn Pro Espresso and Coffee Machine does it all in one smart, futuristic-looking machine. It falls into the super-automatic category of espresso machines, similar to another top pick, the Jura Z10 Espresso Machine. Singapore’s wealth boom hits most sensitive phase

REUTERS/Edgar Su Acquire Licensing RightsSINGAPORE, Sept 6 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Singapore’s wealth boom may be set for a pause. The amount involved has almost doubled and banks, realtors and jewellery dealers have been caught up in the ring. It is the most eye-catching saga since 2015 when Singapore’s banks were involved in the 1MDB Malaysian sovereign fund mess. As Singapore’s success as a financial centre grows, so too does its vulnerability to dirty money. A thornier problem is Singapore’s desire to avoid perceptions it is capitalising on the troubles of China, its top trade partner.

Now, especially after the sturdy June jobs report as week ago and the reassuringly cool CPI print on Wednesday, this is something closer to the prevailing view. The market all year has been acting as if inflation and the Fed's aggressive war against it were mostly 2022 problems. The wobble in early July after a blockbuster ADP employment report sent Treasury yields flying was over in a day. Passing these tests, and now having seen market strength broaden significantly since the end of May, belief is replacing doubt. And last quarter, the S & P went choppily sideways for the first month of reporting season.

The worst liquidity crunch since the 2008 Lehman Brothers collapse will be a big headwind for the stock market this summer, according to JPMorgan. The bank's chief market strategist Marko Kolanovic warned that the expected liquidity decline could add to recession fears. "Broad liquidity in the US... will contract by another $1.1 trillion from here till year-end," Kolanovic said. In year-over-year terms, this would represent the worst US broad liquidity contraction since that seen after the Lehman crisis," Kolanovic said. A sharp liquidity decline in the US is unlikely to be offset by the rest of the world, Kolanovic said.

In a report published on Tuesday, Hindenburg accused IEP of overvaluing its holdings and relying on a “Ponzi-like” structure to pay dividends. The subsequent plunge in IEP shares wiped $2.9 billion off Icahn’s net worth, leaving him with an estimated $14.7 billion, according to Forbes. NAV is a key gauge of a fund’s performance, measuring the market value of securities held by the fund. Driving the frothiness in IEP’s stock, Hindenburg argued, is its dividend yield of 15.8%, the highest of any US large cap company by far. Hindenburg also offered examples it said showed IEP itself was valuing its holdings way above their market value.

Generative AI is the catchall term for artificial intelligence that can create something new — text or images for example — from existing data, when given prompts. OpenAI's generative AI tools can seemingly do anything from write poetry and code to producing frame-worthy art, triggering huge excitement in the space. How generative AI generates revenue is unclearAll of this might be justifiable if there was a clear path for AI firms to make money. Some of the hype around generative AI may be justified and the technology feels genuinely exciting. But to avoid another bubble, investors would do well to quiz the fundamentals of generative AI businesses, before handing out hefty valuations.

Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek said he'd love to own Comcast's 33% stake in Hulu "tomorrow" but acknowledged the chances of an early deal are "less and less" as 2024 approaches. Comcast has an existing mutual agreement with Disney to sell its minority Hulu stake as early as January 2024. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said Wednesday he would also like to own Hulu if Disney decided to put the streaming service up for sale. The best way to value Hulu is to figure out what it would sell for in a theoretical auction, Roberts said Wednesday at the conference. Chapek told Faber this year's dip in the public valuation of Netflix should factor in to the eventual sale price.
